TRUSTEES REPORT for YEAR ENDED 31[ST] March 2025

## CHAIRS REPORT

The Chair explained that the sole aim of the Committee was to run the hall for the benefit of the community, to keep the hall warm, and in good working condition. This meant that it was a valuable asset to the community which continued to attract many users.

Last year the Committee took the difficult decision to increase costs and for the first time in three years and as a result there was now a surplus over expenses and that would ensure that there were funds available for the hall to continue to be maintained at a high standard.

The Committee were always looking for others that are willing to help and where that did not happen those specialist skills needed to be hired. In the last year that included paying for a bookkeeper to maintain the financial records.

In 2025 steps would be taken to endeavour to move forward to get the upstairs room approved for use as that would ease the hiring pressure that was regularly seen and also improve the financial situation.

The Chair thanked the other trustees and the supporters who attend monthly committee meetings and who gave up their time freely to maintain the garden, hall, website, bookings system and making sure everything is in order. He also thanked the hall cleaner, the bookkeeper, and hall opener for their services.
