Beacon House of Prayer is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, registered charity number
1159478, company number CE002415, registered on 3 De￿rnber 2014. Responsibilty for
Beacon House of Prayer rests with the board of trustees, known as the Leadership Team, which
meets quarterly. Board members are appointed in accordance with the constitution.

Aims and obJectiv•s
The objects of the charity are to advance the Chistian faith and to promote the values thereof
for the benefit of the public by:
1) Developing and making available a Christian prayer resour￿ centre in the north
Midlands, helping people to explore prayer and spiritual dimensions of life with multiple
prayer rooms available for prayer and staffed by a team of volunteers.
2) Organising actrvities and special worship services that explore Christian prayer in
various dimensions.
3) Being a resource hub of information about prayer and education about Christlan
spirituality for local congregations and individuals.
4) Offering Christian outreach and ServI￿S for community groups based around exploring
spirituality.
5) Providing a drop-in $8f41iGe for people seektng support or a chat.
6) Runnlng training courses about prayer and aspects of the Christian faith.
7) Co-ordinating conferences for Christians in the wider area.
8) Offering help in local schools through RE classes, assemblies and schoo5 visits to our
premises.
9) Running a confidential listening and healing prayer service in a local community
building. Where possible, our facilities are open most days and evenings.
Summary of the maln activities undertaken for the public benefit
a) Worship and prayer rhythm
We open three days a week- Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings g:30am- 1pm,
and Tuesday and Thursday evenings 7pm - 9".30pm. Each day we have a rhythm of
gathered worship and prayer, covering different topics and issues. We have six people
who lead prayer and four lead times of worship. Additionally, we have had extended
times of worship, encouraging people across the city to come, and some half days of
guided prayer relreat.
b) Conn•cting with local Churches
We have a few people who join us from other churches as well as our own community.
The Beacon hosts a monthly cty leaders Connect meeting and lunch, which is an
important gathering point for leaders across denominations. We have sent teams to
pray and encourage local churches in their ministry and mission and have been a hub
to bring together youth leaders.
c) Our prayer community
The beacon has a small, dispersed prayer community of around 45 people, a half of
whom are part of other churches. We continue our monthly Saturday morning breakfast,
worship and communion times and monthly Tuesday evening bible teaching times.

Public Benefit
The trustees of the Charity are aware of the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefft
and have had regard to it in their administration of the Charity.
The charity's policy on reserves
To ensure that the charity remaines sustainable as a going a going concem in the event of
significant loss of income or other unforseen circumstances, it is the trustee's policy to hold
reseNes of approximately 3 months expenditure.

Beacon House of Prayer

I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of the charity for the period
ended 31 August 2024 which are set out on pages 5 to 7.
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
As the charity's trustees of Beacon House of Prayer, you are responsible for the preparation of the
accounts in accordan￿ with requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the Act).
I report in respect of my examination of Beacon House of Prayer accounts carried out under
section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable
Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5}(b) of tha Act.
Independent examinerfs ststement
I have completed rny examination. I confirm that no material mattèrs have come to my attention in
connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any rnaterial respect..
l. Accounting records were not kept in respect of Beacon House of Prayer as required by
section 130 of the Act" or
2. the accounts do not accord with those reGords; or
3. the accounts to not comply wlth the accounting requirements concertFing the fom and
content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008
other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fair view, which is not a
matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to
which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the
accounts to be reached.

1. Receipts & payments accounts

oversight of worship music.
Rev William Porter is an ordained Methodist Minister employed by the Methodist Church and was paid
