INTRODUCTION:

Bilal Academy is a charity organisation established to cater for the religious, social, and educational needs of the community and to provide services for the care and wellbeing of our community.

Post COVID-19 Bilal Academy still faces profound challenges in delivering our services.

However, even with these unprecedented challenges Bilal Academy have strived to create a friendly and supportive environment to the community of Walsall with an online presence and remote support via our website, email, and phone.

OBJECTIVES:

Our Doctrine is to promote the teachings of the Quran, the Prophet Muhammad, and his companions (peace be upon him and them) as defined and interpreted by the Ahlus-Sunnah Wal Jamma'ah and expounded by the Pious predecessors (peace be upon them).

We aim to advance the education of the public and young people by providing language classes and recreational activities to develop their capabilities that they may grow to become good citizens.

STRUCTURE

The trustees have a duty to identify and review the risks to which the charity is exposed and to ensure appropriate controls are in place to provide reasonable assurance against fraud and error.

CHARITABLE OBJECTIVES

ACHIEVEMENTS & EVENTS:

This financial year we provided the following:

DEVELOPMENT AND MAINTENANCE:

The Bilal Academy building has required substantial structural work; the first phase of renovation work of the 1[st] floor was completed with income generated via fund raising and taking loans to complete the build. This created a financial burden on the charity in repaying the loan over 5 years.

This phase of renovation, which included renovation of the first floor, was completed this year, and we now have classes running fully in the ground floor hall.

Our next stages of renovations are to have a lift installed in the building to enable easy access to people who have difficulty using the stairs.

We also have plans to renovate the entrance of the building.

As the classes have increased vastly, we are also looking to expand our estate.
