SAWSTON YOUTH DRAMA LTD TRUSTEES, REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 AUGUST 2024 The Trnstees who are also directors of the charity for the purposes of the Companies Act 2006, present their annual report together with the financial statements of Sawston Youth Drama Ltd for the year ended 31 August 2024. The trustees have adopted the provisions of Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice aplicable to charities preparing their a¢¢ounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting StandaEd applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS102) (effective l January 2015). STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT . Constitution The objectives of Sawston Youth Diama Ltd are.. i) to advance education for the public benefit in all aspects of the perfomiing arts by the provision of workshops and opportunities lo participate in artistic performances. li) to advance in life and help young people tbrough: a) the provision of recreational and leisure time activities provided in the interest of social welfare, designed to improve their conditions of life. b) providing support and activities which develop their skills. capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as mat and responsible individuals. b. Method of appointment or electioll of Trustees The managemenl Committee shall be as fomied by the appointment of two members namely th¢ Chaimian & Treasir & three elected members at the Annual General Meeting Risk Management The dire¢tOTS of Sawston Youth Drama Ltd have considered the major risks to which the charity is exposed, in particular those related to the operations and finances of the group. and arc satisfled that systems are in place to mitigate its exposure to all the major risks. d. Reserves Policy The purpose of the Operating Reserve Policy for Sawston Youth Drama Ltd is to ensure the stability of the Group, Production and ongoing operations of the organisation. The Operating Reserve is intended to Provide an internal source of funds for situations such as, a sudden increase in expenses, one-time unbudgeted expenses, unanticipated loss in funding or uninsured losses. Th¢ Reserves may be used for one-time, non recurring expenses that will build long terni capacity such as staff development, training or investment in infrastructure. Operating Reserves are not intended to replace a permanent loss of funds or eliminate an ongoing budget gap. It is the intention of Sawslon Youth Drama to ensure any operating ieserve5 that are used are then repleThisbed within a reasonable period of time. SAWSTON YOUTH DRAMA LTD TRUSTEES, REPORT (continued) FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 AUGUST 2024 The report of the trustees The financial statements sel out on pages 6 to 13 bave been prepared in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accoiinting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted A¢¢ounting Practice), including Financial Reporting Standard 102 The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" The directors are satisfied with the performance of the charity during the year and the position at 31 August 2024 and consider that the charity is in a strong position to continue its activities during the coming year. and that the charity's assels are adequate to fijlfil its obligations. The Statement of Financial Activities shows incoming resources for the year of a revenue nature of £26.985 (2023.. £25,999) giving realised net income of £1,890 (2023.. £3.272). A majority of the expenditure is spent on provision of the activities, equipment and nllillg costs. Statement of Trustees responsibilities Company law requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financiaL year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charitable company and of the incoming resources and application of resources, including the income and expenditure. of the charitable company foi that period. ACCOUNTING POLICIES BASIS OF PREPARATION OF FINANCIAL STATEMENTS The financial statements of the charitsble company, have been prepared in accordance with the Charities SORP (FRS 102) Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. The financial statements have b¢¢n prepared under the historical cost convention. Financial reporting standard 102 - reduced disclosure exemptions The charity has taken advantage of the following disclosure exemption in preparing these financial statements. as permitted by FRS 102 The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland,. the requirements of Section 7 Statement of Cash Flows. FUND ACCOUNTING Unrestricted funds can be used in a¢cordan¢e with the charitable objectives at the discretion of the trustees. Restricted funds can only be used for particular restricted purposes within the objectives of the Charity. Restrictions arise when spe¢2fied by the donor or when funds are raised for particular restricted purposes. Further explanation of the natu and purpose of each fund is included in the notes to the fInan¢ial statements. INCOME All incoming resources is recognised in tbe Statement of Financial Activities once the charity has entitlement to the fund5, it is probable that the in¢om¢ will be received and the amount can be reliably measured. Donations are recognised on receipt. Membership income is recognised in the period to which the membership fee relates. The charity is not VAT registered. EENDITuRE Liabilities are Tecognised as eXpenditle as soon as there is a legal or constn]ctive obligation committing the charity to the expenditure, it is probable that a transfer of e¢onomi¢ benefits will be required in settlement and the amount of the obligation can be roeasured ttliably. Expenditure is accounted for on an a¢¢ruals basis and has been classified linder beadings that aggregate all costs related to the category. Where costs cannot be directly attributed to particular beadings they have been allocated to a¢tivities on a basis consistent with the use of resources. Fundraistng ¢osts are those incurred in seeking voluntary contributions and do not include the costs of disseminating inforrnation in support of the charitable activities. Governance costs are those inCUd in connection with the administration of the charity and compliance with ConstitIOnal and statutory requirements. TAXATION The Gharity is exempt from corporation tax on its charitable activities.

Prepayments are valued at the amount pttpaid net of any trade discounts due. CASH AT BANK AND IN HAND Cash at bank and in hand includes cash and short term highly liquid investments with a short maturity of three months or less from the dal¢ of acquisition or opening of the deposit or similar amount. CREDITORS AIYD PROVISIONS Creditors and provisions are recognised where the chatity has a present obligation resulting from a past event that will probably result in the transfer of funds to a third pty and the amount due to settle the obligation can be estimated or measured reliably. Creditors and provisions are normally recognised at their settlement amount after allowing for any trade discounts due. FINAIYCIAL INSTRUMENTS The charity only has financial assets and financial liabilities of a kind that qualify as basic fInancial instnjments. Basi¢ financial instruments are initially recognised at transaction value and subsequently rneasured at their settlement value.
