In2007YorkCityintheCommunity(YCITC)wascreatedbyYorkCityFootballClubwithasmallteamof coaches
employedtoembracedeliveringfootballinthecommunity,predominantlyworkingwithinschoolsintheYork area.
TheFootballClubsupportfortheprogrammehasalwaysbeenvital,althoughovertheyearstheprogramme has
grown immensely and developed a much wider focus by achieving charitable status as York City FC Foundation.

The Charity has identified three objectives for the coming years, which together contribute to achieving the vision:
 - to make available a range of quality sporting and recreational activities appropriate to the needs of the community.

## **`ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE`**

The threetrusteesappointedduring2023have all settledin well bringingtheirskillsto the benefitof the Foundation
andamoreprofessionalapproachtotheoversightoftheoperations.Weareextremelygratefulfortheirtime and
effort.
```

Thestaffhasseenseveralchangesbutremainedflexibleandsupportivecarryingoutworkforthepurpose the
Foundationwas created,to help tackle some of the key socialissues such as loneliness,mental health,lack of physical
activity and specific health issues.
```

TheyeartoJune2024sawthesaleofYorkCityFootballClubtoMattandJulie-AnneUggla.Theyand their
representativeshavebeeninvitedtoBoardmeetingstooptimisecommunicationbetweenthefootballcluband the
Foundation.  Paul Sackey attended in December.
```

## **`Sports Participation`**

YorkCityLadiesremainedinTierFouroftheFemaleFootballPyramidhavingworkedveryhardandsurvivedin that
level after a toughseasonwith matchesagainstLeeds, Middlesbrough,Barnsleyamongstothersand at the end of  the
season,wontheCountyCup.ThehomegroundmovedtoUniversityof Yorktomeet groundgradingcriteria,and to
providea longer term vision for growth.A new Managerwas appointedin February2024, to enable Steph Turnbull to
take on an overseeing role as Sporting Director and allow the first team manager to focus solely on the first team.
```

TheBusinessBellesnetworkinggroupsetupspecificallyforbusinesswomenwhichwasoriginallyassociatedwith the
Ladiesfootballteamhasgrownconsiderablyandnowoffersmonthlynetworkingevents.Withover200 members,
this helps to promote the Foundation and YC Ladies across the City in a corporate environment.
```

Despitethelackof centralfundingfortheTalentAcademy,thegirlsPathway,alsoincorporatingtheEmerging Talent
Centre,hascontinuedtoperformwellwithrecordnumbersandseeingevenmoreplayersmovinguptoYork City
LadieswiththedevelopmentoftheUnder23salongsidetheDevelopmentSquad.Theboy'sPathwayalso remains
strong. The end of season presentation evenings hosted over 300 and 450 attendees respectively.
```

ActivitieswithschoolscontinuedtogrowincludingthedeliveryofPremierLeaguePrimaryStarstosixmain Partner
Schools,andsmallgroupinterventions,footballfestivalsandextra-curricularclubstoover100schoolsin total.
HolidayFootballFunCoursesremaininhighdemand,andpricescontinuetoreflectacommunityethosto remove
barrierstoattendance.Inaddition,theHappyHealthyHolidaysProjectcoveringlongerschoolholidayscontinued to
provide activity and food with full funded spaces for young people.

## **`Health & Wellbeing and Social Inclusion`**

A new partnershipwith Portakabinenabledweekly Boot The Blues Kick Aboutsessionsto continueto take place. Well
supportedand needed, aimed at men who may have mental healthissues helpingmental and physicalwell-being with
exercise and peer support.

AnewinitiativeWalkwithYork,hasbeencreatedbythepartnershipandtrialled.Anorganised30minutewalk for
anyonewhoworksin the areato joinin fromthe stadiumcarparkto "takea moment"andrefresh.Thishas proved
popular, and attendances are growing.

OurlongstandingregularWalkingFootballsessionsforbothmenandwomencontinuestogrowashasthe Sporting
Memories groups,activitiesfor those seeking fellowshipand companionship.Many interestingspeakersfrom the club
managementandstafftojournaliststoprofessionalshavecomealongtoentertainthemembersandweare very
grateful to all who have supported this important initiative.

A new WalkingFootballgroupmeetingweeklyspecificallyforsufferersof ParkinsonsDiseasehasbeencreatedand is
growingveryfast,thankstosupportfromParkinsonsUK,andiswellsupportedandisimmenselybeneficial to
participants.

their waistlines with the right support and activity.

Physicalactivitysessionsforyoungpeople5-17heldinlocalparksduringEasterandSummerholidays, which
encourageactivityinasafebutrelaxedenvironmentintargetedareasofneedhavecontinued,andCity KickAbout
weeklypositivediversionaryactivitiesintwoareasoftheCityhaverunthroughouttheyearthankstothe ongoing
support from Persimmon Homes.

The Foundationcontinuesto reflectrelevantissuesandsupportcampaignsrelevantto theCity,withthedonation of
thousandsoftoystofamilieswhomaynothavebeenabletoprovidepresentsatChristmas,withsupport from
partnersCityCruises,foodandclothingwascollectedanddonatedjointlywithClubfansforHOPINGStreet Kitchen
andtheYCFCyouthteamalongwithPaulaandotherstaffmemberstookpartinasponsoredsleepoutinApril with
around50othervolunteersatthestadiumraisingmoneyfortheFoundationand3otherlocalcharities supporting
rough sleepers, homeless and disadvantaged families in York.

The Foundation incurred a small overall deficit of £7,211 in the year, from a surplus of £1,566 in 22/23.
```

Thedeficitlargelycorrespondstothe£5,000designatedbytheTrusteesintheprioryeartobeutilisedto subsidise
the running costs of the girls Regional Talent Centre in 23/24 following the change to funding from the FA.
```

```
Unrestrictedfundsattheyearendstoodat£36,616,comparedwith£43,827in22/3.TheFoundationhad no
restricted funds at the year end, or in the previous year.
```

The principalsources of fundingin the year continuedto be grant fundingfrom the FA, NationalLeague Trust and The
CityofYorkCouncil;incomereceivedforthedeliveryoftheschoolsandholidaycourseprogrammes;and subs,
sponsorship and donations received.
```

Itisthepolicyofthecharitythatunrestrictedfundswhichhavenotbeendesignatedforaspecificuseshould be
maintainedatalevelequivalenttothreemonth'sexpenditure.Thetrusteesconsidersthatreservesatthislevel will
ensurethat,intheeventofasignificantdropinfunding,theywillbeabletocontinuethecharity'scurrent activities
while consideration is given to ways in which additional funds may be raised.

crisis, reduced physical health and poor mental wellbeing.

crucial to the sustainability and development of new wellbeing programmes for young people and adults.

Key aims for 2023/24and into 2024/25have been to positionthe Foundationto highlightthe charitablestatus  further
withinthewidercommunityandcorporateenvironmentinYork,andtorecognisethepowerofthe programmes
being "More Than Football" in order to attract further support and partnerships.

Engagementin the localandnationalcommunitiesaroundthe female game,continueto increaseandare relevant to
theongoingdirectionoftheFemaleprogrammeswithinSportsParticipationandfutureaimsaretomatchthe FA
StrategyforWomenandGirlsbybuildingandprotectingtheuniquenessoftheWomen'sGame,and raising
aspirations and opportunities for women and girls to play, and engage off the pitch too.
