## Fakenham Community Support

## Charity Number 1,159,268 Annual Report 2020

Charity Chair and principle officer; Mrs Joy Holland 7 Fakenham Road Great Ryburgh Norfolk, NR21 7AW

Trustees; Joy Alice Holland Leonie Reeve William Bell Cuthill

The charity works within the boundaries of its constitution. It is a small charity to provide events in the community.

Trustees are appointed by group members and represent different areas of the community, Youth, families older people, young children.

The 3 trustees and treasure make the decisions on how money is given to each event organised to ensure it is used in a way that best serves the community it helps.

## **Objectives;**

To Promote for the inhabitants of Fakenham and the surrounding area the provision of facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, financial hardship or social and economic circumstances or for the public at large in the interests of social welfare and with the object of improving the condition of life for the said inhabitants.

The charity was set up to raise funds to provide activities and events for the whole community for families who could not otherwise afford to attend events, who are alone and isolated or on low incomes.

The trustees are people who regularly volunteer either in toddler group, youth group, older persons weekly group, they know very well the people they are working with.

Together they put on events to bring these people together.

Those we recruit are already volunteers in their area, who are known to be trusted and reliable and willing to be involved.

We do not hold reserves as there has not been a need or requirement to do this.

We do not have a reserves policy in place.

We do not run into a deficit – we have no deficit

We have no assets.

Some funds have been given for the particular reason to purchase new equipment. Other funds for general use for running costs of events. I confirm the trustees have all complied with their duty and have due regard to the guidance on public benefit as published by the commission in exercising their powers of duties.

Achievements this year.

Unfortunately, during 2020 we have been unable to run events due to COVID lockdown.

Our Aims and Objectives are to continue to run social events. Once we have access to a building again – the building we used was closed and a new building is under construction – we can resume activities.

Our source of income has been grants and gifts. As we have no assets we are low risk. We only spend what we have.

Our organisational structure is very small and simple at the moment but has capacity to grow in the future once we have a base again. As chair, Joy Holland calls trustees together to organise events and allocates jobs that need carrying out.
