## Section D Achievements and performance

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**

We Light Up The House undertook the following activities from 1.10.23 – 30.9.24

The charity produced Protest Song, a play written by Tim Price about the Occupy Movement and encampment outside St Paul’s Cathedral in 2011. The play originally premiered at the National Theatre in 2013. The story centres on a rough sleeper who is inspired by the Protesters and their idealism.

The play ran at the Arcola Theatre and offered free tickets to service users at St Mungos, a charity for rough sleepers and discounted seats to young people. It was also presented with captions and relaxed performances for people with access needs.

The charity also developed three new scripts within this period:

A true story of the courage of Russian ballet dancers under Stalin. A play for children and young people inspired by the news-story of a rescued sheep which explores animal rights and human fallibility. A new adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s short story Canterville Ghost for families.
