Objectives and activities,-
TAR
M2rph 2012

Shine Bright Foundation Objectives,
To relieve sickness and promote and protect good health amongst those
who are at risk of, or who have been diagnosed with breast cancer in
such ways as the trustees shall think fit. In particular but not exclusively
by;
A, Providing and improving resources and equipment for patients and
consultants as appropriate to improve care, treatment and diagnosis of
breast cancer
Summary of the objects of the
charity set out in its
governing document
B. Raising awareness about early diagnosis and treatment and reminding
people to check themselves.
C. Raising funds to support research into all aspects of breast Can￿r, it's
causes, diagnosis and treatment and disseminating the useful results of
such research.
In planning for this year we have kept in mind our main objectives set out
in the governing documenuguidance on public health.
We at Shine Bright Foundation have continued our partnership with
Navitas (based in Crewe). A centre of excellence in holistic treatments.
These treatments are there for people who have been diagnosed or are
having ongoing treatment for breast cancer.
Reiki, reflexology and mindfulness are some of the treatments on offer.
We also provide a course to learn reiki up to leve11 to enable people to
self help after their 'paid for, treatments have finished. This is proving
very successful and we are finding an increase demand for our services.
All paid for by Shine Bright Foundation.
While our focus is to raise money to provide these treatments locally, we
do from time to time help people outside our area of Crewe and
Nantwich. We are also well placed to offer a substantial donation to the
Christie Foundation Trust centre research dept Manchester/Manchester
cancer research dept headed by Sacha Howell.
We also promote self care through leaflets but mostly through social
media.
Summary of the main
activities undertaken for the
public benefit in relation to
these objects (include within
this section the statutory
declaration that trustees have
had regard to the guidance
issued by the Charity
Commission on public
benefit)

As a charity. Shine Bright Foundation does not have any financial

free time from our trustees and volunteers. Their time energy and
willingness to help Shine Bright Foundation to continue to succeed is
central to our success.

Section D 4
Achievements and performance;
For the year 2019/20- November 2019 to October 2020.
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity
during the year
Shine Bright Foundation our year startedlcontinued with our objectives
and then we were hit with the coronavirus (Covid19) outbreak in January
2020.
We did manage to provide one or two treatments and then with the
lockdowns and uncertainty of how the virus travelled. It was felt prudent
to stop treatments.
We were able to continue providing gift bags though. To any one who is
having treatment for breast cancer.
These gift bags comprise of Aloe Vera products:
Tooth gel, deodorant, Gelly and antibacterial hand gel. Herbal tea bags
x3, scented candle mini chocolate and cosy socks.
We try to send out x10 each month and from time to time increase the
amount depending on demand, and of course if we can afford them.
These gift bags are sent out on request to individuals who are having
treatment for BIC.
We have managed to send out 132 gift bags over this period 2019120.
These again were all warmly received, a nice pick- me- up.
Part of the money we raise through out the year goes directly to to the
research of triple negative breast cancer and other breast cancers.
We were in a great position to be able to give Dr Sacha Howell's
research team a cheque for £50,000. This year the money was put to an
ongoing project into an early detection breast cancer app aiming it at
women who are too young for breast cancer screening..We are at this
moment are waiting on the results of preliminary tests.
We were very lucky to receive some monetary donations this year but as
we can all appreciate revenue dropped considerably. We are very
hopeful that things will change for the better for this following year.

None.
Further financial review details (Optional information)
Our main source of funds is raised mainly through sponsored events.
Marathon runners, community events, business donations. Most of which
are set up on donation platforms, i.e.virginmoneygiving etc.
