Introduction
Once again I am delighted to introduce our annual report which showcases the brilliant work of our dedicated and committed staff and volunteers.
All of the projects featured in this report would not get off the ground without the work of our volunteers, every single thing we achieve is done by them and every year we strive to serve the people of Reddish and Heaton Norris. Our volunteers and beneficiaries come from every walk of life young and not so young. able bodied and disabled. We stretch out a hand for anyone who needs us. Our aim is to serve.
The charity does not stand still, and this year plans are well underway to open a social supermarket in our hub, this is an exciting new development which we hope will compliment the amazing work done by our volunteers at our food bank.
We have new window signage for our shop, and have plans for a community notice board. Passers by may notice that we have a new defibrillator installed as well.
We are very much looking forward to celebrating our 10th anniversary, and in doing so applaud our amazing volunteers who make all our work possible.
I would also wish to thank our outside partners who are to many for me to list here but who are listed further on in this report, your advice and support is a strength to us and thank you all for your continued partnership So…why not come and join us ……..you will be really welcome.
Andy Verdeille, Chair of Re:dish Trustees
We are continuing to develop our hub at 2 Gorton Road Reddish, we have now activities happening every day, and we are becoming a central point in our community.

Our 2023-24 Goals
In 2023 - 24 we have continued to work on the strategy and business plan that was put in place during the pandemic.
We have responded to emerging community needs around social isolation and wellbeing working with partners on a number of new projects.
1
Develop the shop and hub to become a focal point for the community in accordance with need
Develop groups, projects and events that respond to the emerging needs of the community particularly tackling isolation.
2
3
Strengthen and develop Re:dish projects
Identify and work with partners that can compliment existing Re:dish projects
Continue to support our existing projects so that they are sustainable.
Establish relationships with likeminded partner organisations to build capacity and respond to community need.
Food Action Foodbank 104 During 2023-24 the Reddish part of Stockport foodbank issued 1723 vouchers - 17% increase on the previous year sessions We continued to be well supported by our local community with donations from individuals, local groups, businesses, churches and schools. As well as food we also operated uniform and winter clothing voucher schemes. At Christmas we gave out hot chocolate mugs as stocking fillers. 30 Morrisons continued to act as a collection point for food donations. We were able to provide support for foodbank clients via volunteers a funded Citizen Advisor as part of the Stockport Foodbank network. Our Citizen Advisor also issued fuel vouchers to clients over the winter. We worked with Cracking Good Food to deliver sample food products using foodbank ingredients and low fuel 1723 methods to foodbank clients. 12 clients then attended a brilliantly received cookery course and went home with a vouchers slow cooker each and a recipe booklet to make sustainable changes to their cooking and diet. ~~J~~ Future Developments Following the positive feedback of the Cracking Good Food cookery course we plan to offer other opportunities to improve cookery skills once our social supermarket ‘Good Stuff’ is launched
- In Q3 we decided to re-configure our hub to host the new ‘Good Stuff’ social supermarket and work started to refurbish the space and move the donation sorting room upstairs. Working with partners Greater Together Manchester we plan to launch in Q1 2024-25

This has enabled them to access their own funding and to continue their vital services. They also launched an evening session for those who are not available in the day and includes walking football.

We run free weekly sessions during term time led by a qualified Sports Coach. There is a core group of regular attendees who are happy to welcome newcomers. The group is for everyone regardless of their fitness level as both chair based and standing exercises are demonstrated. We continued to offer monthly trips to Hideout (a youth centre in Gorton with tons of activities and options for young people). The young people accessing the weekly group also benefited from HAF sessions (Holiday Activities and Fun) provided by Make a Difference in the school holidays. These sessions are themed and can also involve trips including swimming, and the cinema. There are also family sessions where younger siblings can also come along.

Community Garden
On 22nd June 2023 the restored peace garden of St Agnes church was unveiled at an official opening. This amazing space provides access to the great outdoors for the church congregation, the church groups that meet there, Re:dish groups and the local community.
The project was the result of a collaboration between Re:dish, St Agnes Church, Virgin Media / 02 and Wingnut who contributed financially and donated their time for it to be completed.
The garden is accessible with a level path around the edge, raised beds for both flowers and fruit and vegetables as well as plenty of benches for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful space.

Re:dish Shop
The charity shop continues to provide valuable unrestricted income to support our community projects.
We have continued to develop our ebay shop to sell some of the more collectible items and have a number of volunteers who are dedicated to the listing and posting of these items. Ebay sales grew by 173% totalling £1743.
We also continue to work in partnership with Men In Sheds selling donated bikes that have been repaired and serviced by them.

As well as our seasonal window displays we are developing a reputation for a number of other sales events including our Winter Wonderland and Window Santa. This is an opportunity for local children to meet Santa for free.
We also had a late night opening to support the 2023 Christmas Light Switch on which was one of our best sales days.
Future Developments
We will continue to look at attending other sales events to raise our profile and increase our sales
We will support local events such as Spotlight on Reddish, Reddfest and the Reddish Christmas light switch on by hosting sales events and adjusting our hours to fit the events.
We will invest in a new till so that we are able to register and reclaim Gift Aid.
Hub
Re:dish Hub
Our programme of hub activities has grown over the last 12 months and we now have a group or activity every weekday that we are open.
In October 2023 we began to rent our Peacock room to CAP for their weekly job club. This compliments our existing groups providing support for clients and volunteers who may be looking for paid work.
We have had great success with support organisations including the Cost of Living helpline team, Your home better, Pension credit team attending our existing groups and events and engaging with clients.
We also hosted one off events such ss a digital device drop in conjunction with Starting Point and Digiknow.
We received funding from Stockport Council for window artwork at the front of the shop. This is the first phase of a hub update which will include a community noticeboard, debfibrillator and new external signage
Future Developments
We will refurbish the smaller meeting room as a 121 room which will be ideal for services and support organisations to use to engage with clients
We will continue to work with services and organisations to deliver the support and groups that our community need.
