Activlties and Projects Children are at the heart of the charity's work, and we aim to ensure that underprivileged children have access to education, medical assistance, and a safe environment to live in, play and grow. This is achieved by implementing sustainable development projects across sub-saharan Africa for education, food security, entrepreneurship, and health in less privileged communities. Educational Projects The charity runs weekly voluntary classes to help facilitate people's integration into society through language, communication skills, mathematics, and basic needs (see link below). http://www.changelslife.co.uk/education-program/4587169805 Textile Project This project aims to ensure that people (especially children) have access to suitable clothing all year round. This will prevent people from becoming ill due to inadequate projection from weather conditions, particularly in the winter. The charity ships 1-3
40ft or 20ft containers from the United Klngdom to Africa full of donations on yearly basis to help ald those in need and this is done through the help of our internatlonal partners and donors (watch video below). https://youtu.be/G7Kb098tR71 ProJert Llght The Light project provides substantial short, medium, and long-term solutions to Africa's energy crisis. We provide access to light for less privileged communities In Angola through our solar Helix, which are lightweight portable and eco-frlendly solar- powered lights (watch video below). https://youtu.be/-Zu8Rluh-6A How we work The charity delivers its aims by Implementing well-structured, adequate, and sustainable projects in the various countries it operates in Africa with the support of regular donors within the UK and beyond. The charity has established local teams led by local volunteers who represent and carry out the charivs mission together with the trustees who run the charity voluntarily and travel to Africa regularly to work with the teams. Moreover, we build strong networks and partnerships with private and public sector bodies who facilitate our work and help us achieve our objectives. Voluntary help and glfts in kind The trustees are extremely grateful to all the people that believe in our work. They have helped the charity by volunteering their time carrying out fundraising activities, in particular those who work with us across sub-saharan Africa helping to implement and maintain our projects. Although monetary donations are still scarce, the public and local businesses have generously provided gifts in kind, mainly donations of clothing and other materials which are detrimental to our objectives. Without them, we wouldn't be able to carry out all the work we do. What we did in 2023: Action and Financial Review 2023 During the year funds have provided by the trustees to cover regular costs such as shipment and domain. The total amount raised was £5,302 (five thousand, three hundred and two pounds), while total spending was £5,367 (five thousand, three hundred and sixty-seven pounds). Total income was used to ship 40ft containers full of donations from the United Kingdom to Africa (Angola) and maintain our storage place in Oxfordshire, pay our monthly domain, and hire man with a van service to collect large amount of donations across the UK. The donations shipped allowed us
to run various large-scale humanitsrian missions such as the annual health fair in rural communities of Bengo. Plans for the future Continue to build global partnership and scale up our impact in Angola by taking our work to more provinces while expanding the ongoing projects such as our Digital and Ecological Village and our Project Light. Additionally, next year we will launch a new projects focus on youth through the concept of social enterprise as a business model for young people.
