The Charity is an unincorporated tnjst Consti￿trd by a Deed of Tnjst dated 06 April 1973. amended by various
Deeds and most recently by Deed of Varialion dated I S August 2014.The Trust was registered with the Charity
Commission for England and Wales on I l N'ovember 2014 under Charity Registration Number.. 1159149.

The Trust operdtes I main Gospel hall along with 3 lo¢al small gospel halls and Trustees are chosen from among th¢
regular congregation of the halls. New Trusttts are nominated by the existing Tntstees or by the congregation and

experbence and are expected io use both in fvrthering the objects of the Charity- Checks are mad¢ to ensure the

The charitablc purpose5 of the Charity are the advancement of the Christian religion for the public benefit, including
by the ¢arrying on of th¢ service of God in accordance with the Old and New Testaments of ihe Holy Bible as
followed by those Christians foming part of the world-wtde fellowship known as the Plymouth Brethren Christian
Church (th¢ "Brethren") and any other charitable purposes ¢onneGt¢d with Brethren. The core d￿trIne of the
Br¢thren and proper practices in furtherance of certain aspects of doctrine are summarised in ts¥o s¢hedules lo the
Trust Deed.

The Trust has members of the congregation donate time to the RRT charity (This is a separate charity) and th¢

Members of the congregation also ar¢ eng4ed in street preaching and giving out gospel tracts (about 70 tracts per
week) and bibles.
Main activities and achievements
The Trust provides and maintains Gospel ha115 where religious meetings are held by th¢ local Brethren communiry.

The Trust has been Continuing to open the hall to the con￿&￿tiOn and visitors and ¢nwuraging gwd by them
which benefit the wider community. as de5¢ribed below.
Plans for Future Periods
Despite the increased cost of energy. the trI￿eeS feel that these iDcr¢&s¢d costs are t￿t Signific￿tlY impacting on the
ability of the charity io coniinue as a going concern.
Meetings
Meetings held at the Gospel halls include the Lord's Supper (Communion), Gospel preachings, Bible readings and
Bible addresses. There is a structured weekly schedule of meetings and. depending on the parti¢ular ￿￿eting,
between 30 and 350 people normally #ttend these occasions.
The meetings are attended by the regular congregation and most are open to other properly disposed visitOTS. The
nolice board outside the Hall welcome5 Vlsltors and displays the times of Gospel preaching5, along with a telephone
number for those seeking further Inforn￿tiOn or help. Gospel tracts, which are distribuied by street preacher5. also
display this infonnation. During the year. 100 Gospel tracts and 8 Bibles were given out in th¢ street preaching's and
given oul to th¢ rommunxty at places of work ets.
Bibl¢s and an extensive range of other Christian reading material ar¢ on display at the hails and visitors are free to
h¢lp themselves.

Spreading th¢ Gospel message and the lile of * ChristiAn
The Gospel halls are a base from which the regular congregation and others who *tr¢nd the meetings are enc4)uraged
to spread the Christian Gospel. in word and deed.
Members of the Congregation participale in a progrdmme of street preaching and Gospel tracts are provided free of
harge by the Charity to such preachers to be handed out to interested members of the public.
In addition lo the street preaching members of the congregation have been assisting the Rapid Relief Team in
preparing food boxes for Ukraine and also assisting the RRT in a sleepover at the local Preston football club. Thi5
was lor local business owners.
The congregation hav¢ also helped in tidying the local vsllage {Bilsborrow) Verges and donating flowers for the
flower bed.
The Trust also donates food to local food banks each month.
In carrying out this worL the congregation considers itself to be living out its faith in practice, as particularly
ex¢mplified in the following extract from the schedule to th¢ Trust Deed on living a Christian life..
We seek and are encouraged to live cxemplary lives in all our relationships wth others in the wider community
(including fonner Brethren), in a¢cordan¢¢ with the i¢a¢hing5 of Holy Scripture { l Tim 2-2).
We regularly go out from our homes to preach on the streets. to distribute Christian literature and engage with the
wider community {including fomier Brethren) in order io preseni ¢temal salvation. available to all men by faith in
Jesus Christ. {2 Tim 4..2).
We seek a5 member5 of the publlc to lead Christian lives a5 hu5band$ and wives, parents. children, employers.
employees and neiohiK)urs. {Col 3..22-25, Col 4..1).
The preservation and protection of the family unit is ￿ndamental and children are prized a5 a blessing from God.
{Psalm 127..3-5). Tbe elderly are vxlued members of the community. for whom both their family and the wider
community we expected to care.
. Holy Scripture commands us to b¢ good neighbours to others, and deal with all other people (including former
Brethren} openly. hone￿lY and fairly and consistent with these pTinciples, we should give our tim¢, talents and
money to assist those in need in the wider Community. in $0 far as Te&sonable given our abilities and our available
resources. (Matt 7.12, att 22=39, Eph 4..28).
Funding
Funding is sought through gifis from the ¢ongregation and Gift Aid is claimed on eligible donations. Funding is
sometimes received from oth¢r ¢haritable trusts with completnentary obj¢rtives.

Aehievement5 and performance
Financial review
In the y¢4r ended 5 April 2024, the Trust had a £3.338 surp1￿8 of incoming resources over r¢50urc¢$ ¢xp¢nded. Total
voluntsry income received ihis year was £153J88 compared to £227.080 in the previous year.
All fund5 held were unrestricted fijnds.
Poliry on reserves
The Tru5lees ht4ve considered the l¢v¢l of reserves they wish lo retain, appropriate to the charity's l)eeds. based on its
size and the level of its financial wmmilments. The Trusr has no employees and its regular outgoings are minimal.
Accordingly. the Trustees have decided to adopt a policy of maintaining no gignificant reserves other than a
equivaleni to thr¢¢ months expenditures. The congregation is kept regularly informed as to particular needs for
funds. and other Televant matters arbd the Trust¢es aim to ensure that the Charity will be able to continue to fulfil its
harilable objertives ¢ven if there is a temporary slK)rtfall in incom¢ or unexpected expenditure. by raising a funds
appeal to the congregation.
Free reserv¢s at the y¢ar end were £67.046. However. as there are loans still outstanding of £164,000, w¢ ar¢
currently building funds to pay this otT. Ther¢ are no restricted fimd5 in the TNst.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of Egerton Gospel Hall Trust fow the year ended 5 April
2024.

As the charity trustee5 of Egcrton Gospel Hall Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in
accordance with the requiremenls of the Charities Aci 2011 ('the Act,).
I report in respect of my examination of the Egerton Gospel HaIl Trust's accounts carried out under section 145 of
the 201 l A¢t and in carrying oul my examination I have followed ail the applicablc Dir¢¢iions given by the Charity
Commission under section 14515){b) of th¢ Act.
Basis of the Independent Examiner's report
My examination was carried out in accordance with the Genera] Directions given by the Charity Commission. An
examination includes a review of fh¢ accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts
presented wnh those records. It also includes consideration of any unuslial items or disclosures in the accounts. and
sttking of explanations from you as Tru5tecs concerning any such matter5. The prncedures undertaken do not
provide all the evidence that would be required in an audiL and consequenily opinion is given as to whether the

Wtth the Fina￿la( Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland {FRS 102) issued in October
2019, the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the United Kingdom and Republic of Irelat)d {FRS 102). and

The functional currency of the charity is 51erling (£).
Egerton Gospel Hall Trust meets the definition of a public benefil entity under FRS 102. Assets and liabilities 8r¢
initially recognised at historical cost or tratLsactton value unless otherwise ststed in thc relevant accounting policy
notes.
Incoming Resources
Donations are recognised in the year in which there is entitlement and probability of r¢¢eipt and the amount can be
measured with reasonable ¢¢rfainry. Income is only defe￿ed when the charity has to fulfil condiiions before
becoming entitled to it or where the donor has specified thai the income is to be expended in ¥ future year. Gift aid is
added to the value of the donation to which it relates.
Donated servi¢es are recogntsed as income and expenditiwe Tn the financial statements when organisatiotLS or
individuals offer their services and support pro bono. Th¢ value of these donated services ￿ Egerton Gospel Hall

Charitable activities comprise those costs directly attributable to the fvlfilment of the charitable objects.
