3.2 Recrultment and appolntment of Trustees
The Trustees have power to appoint any person to be a Trustee.
3.3 Organlsatlonal Structure
Alauddin Siddiqui Trust is Soverned by its Trustee Board which Is responslble for settlng the strategic
dlrection of the organisation and the policy of the charity. The trustees carry the ultimate
responsibility for the conduct of Alauddin Siddiqui Trust and for ensuring that the charity satlsfles Its
legal and contractual obll8atlons. The trustees may delegate the implementation of thelr decislons or
day-to-day management of the affairs of the Charlty to any employee of the Charlty, person or
commlttee as they thlnk fit. Any committee must Include at least one Trustee.
Decisions are determlned by a slmple majority of votes. In the case of an equallty of votes the
Chairman of the meeting has the casting vote.

The Trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees, Annual Report and flnanclal statements in
accordance wlth applicable law and United Kln8dom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally
Accepted Accounting Pr3Ctlcel.
In preparlng these financial statements, the Trustees are required to:
select sultable accountln8 pollcies and then apply them consistently;
observe the methods and prlnciples in the Charities SORP;
make judgements and estlmates that are reasonable and prudent: and
prepare the financlal statements on the 80ing concern basls unless it is inapproprlate to
presume that the charitable company will contlnue In business.

GÈneral Inlormatlon
The charlty constltutes a public benefit entlty as deflned by FRS 102. The financial statements have
been prepared in accordance with Accountlng and Reporting by Charities., Statement of
Recommended Practice appllcable to charities preparing accounts in accordance with the Financial
Reportlng Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 102) issued on 16 July 2014, the
Flnancial Reporting Standard applicable In the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021, the
Charities Act 2011, the Companies Act 2LNJ6 and UK Generally Accepted Accounting Practlce as it
applies from l January 2015.
Accountlng pollcles
The principal accountlng policies adopted, jud8ements and key sources of estlmatlon uncertainty in
the preparation of the financial statements are as follow5 .
Basis of preparatlon
These financial statements are prepared on a 80ing concern basls under the hlstorical cost convention,
modified to Include certain items at fair value. The linanclal statements are prepared in the functional
currency of the Charitv,
Income
All income Is recognised once the charity has entitlement to the funds, it is certain that the resources
wlll be received and the monetary value can be measured with sufficient reliabilltv.
Income recelved In advance of a specified servlce Is deferred untll the criteria for income recognitlon
are met.
Interest on funds held Is Included when receivable and the amount can be measured reliably whlch Is
normally on notification ol the amovnt by the bank.
Expendlture
Liabllities are recognised as soon as there Is a legal or constructive obligation committing the charlty to
the expenditure, it Is probable that settlement will be required and the amount of the obllgatlon can
be measured reliably. All expenditure is accounted for on an accrua15 basls.
Expenditure on charltable activities comprise the costs incurred by the diarity where the prlmary alm
Is the delivery of activitles and services within the objects of the charity.
Governance costs include those costs associated with meeting the constitutional and statutory
requirements of the charity and include the costs linked to the 5trateglc management of the charity.
Irrecoverable VAT is charged as a cost 38ainst the activity for whlch the expenditure was incurred.
Tax
The Charity Is an exempt charity withln the meaninE of schedule 3 of the Charltles Act 2011 and is
considered to pass the tests set out in Paragraph I Schedule 6 Finan￿ Act 2010 and therefore it meets
the definltion of a charitable company for UK corporation tax purpose5.

Debtors are recognised at the settlement amount due. Prepayments are valued at the amount prepaid.

Creditors and provisions are recognised where the charity has a present obligation resulting from a
past event that will probably result in a transfer of funds to a third party and the amount can be
measured or estimated rellably. Credltors and provisions are normally measured at theSr settlement
amount.
Flnanclal Instruments
The charity only has flnanclal assets and financial liabllitles of a klnd that quallfy as baslc flnanclal
Instruments. Baslc flnanci31 instruments are initially recorded at transartlon value and subsequently
measured at thelr settlement value.
