## **Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document**

For the benefit of the public to relieve the suffering of cats and kittens in Shropshire in need of care by rescue and rehabilitation and rehoming of stray and abandoned cats and kittens, promotion of neutering over 4 months old and the education of public in animal welfare.

**Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)**

The charity offers advice and help via the website and facebook page and over the telephone. As an advocate charity of Cats Protection we offer neutering vouchers to the general public for feral and owned cats whose owners cannot afford neutering. We offer loan of cat traps to trap feral cats and neuter them and either return them to the location they were trapped or if causing a problem or the cats are in danger relocate them on farms or smallholdings to assist with vermin control. If we think the cats could be socialised and have a new life as a pet we take them into a cattery and work with them. Annually with Cats Protection Vouchers we assist in neutering 80 cat and as such are able to actively promote neutering for cats over 4 months old. Besides the cats we have neutered under the Cats Protection Vouchers this year we have taken in another 144 cats, neutered them and given them veterinary treatment before rehoming them. The Trustees believe that they have given due consideration to the Commission’s Public Benefit Guidance when making decisions and acting on behalf of the charity.

## Section D Achievements and performance

Following the lifting of Covid restrictions we have been able to **Summary of the main** resume our tiny cat café sessions and done some fundraising in **achievements of the** a local super market but following Covid most of the venues we **charity during the year** relied upon are no longer allowing charity collections. Using social media we have continued to receive help from our supporters with donations which have helped us fund the neutering and veterinary fees for strays and cats who have been given up by their owners. We ran online raffles and sold calenders and Christmas card to gain donations. As an advocate charity of Cats Protection we continued to offer neutering vouchers to the general public for feral and owned cats whose owners cannot afford neutering. With the vouchers we assisted in neutering 80 cats and as such were able to actively promote neutering for cats over 4 months old. This year we have taken into foster 150 cats, neutered them and given them veterinary treatment before rehoming them.
