The Managing Trustees of the Church are those persons appointed by the Church as Church Officers in accordance with the Church Rules (and believed by the Church to fulfil the criteria required by the New Testament writings of 1 Timothy and Titus).
Those charitable purposes the Church supports have been agreed upon by the Members of the Church in General Meeting and in accordance with the Church Rules.
The Church is affiliated to AECW (Associating Evangelical Churches of Wales) from which it derives guidance and support and advice. Regular Regional meeting are held and an annual Assembly.
At this stage the Trustees have not identified any significant risks to the future of the charity.

The purposes of the Church are:

Having had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit, the trustees, (including the pastor / minister of the church), work to promote the ministry of the church in every way. This includes pastoral ministry to members and others who attend, evangelistic ministry to those outside the church, care for those in the community and overseas, and mission ministry supporting friends working in other parts of the world. They are committed to following the teaching of the Bible in the activities; and the church’s basis of faith reflects that commitment.

The Church has maintained its life as a worshipping and witnessing community.

The Church provided opportunity to meet together; on Sundays for worship in Canolfan Bro Tegid.

Midweek the Church meets for Bible Study and Prayer. Fortnightly on a Wednesday in Canolfan Bro Tegid and the remaining weeks in three Home Groups in the town.

Gareth Williams (the ‘Minister’) has continued to serve as the minister of the Church. and as a visiting lecturer / speaker to students in further education.

The Church continues to support through other charitable bodies Christian Mission in Wales and Overseas.

Section D Achievements and performance
Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
During the year the Church was able:
-
to maintain its life in the town of Bala as a worshipping, witnessing and welcoming community.
-
to provide opportunities to meet together; on Sundays for worship and midweek for Bible Study and Prayer; fortnightly on a Wednesday in Canolfan Bro Tegid and the remaining weeks on a Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday at Home Groups in the town.
-
to be involved in helping with a number of funerals locally and further afield with minister Gareth Williams speaking.

to diversify its ministry through a variety of means, including the teaching of students particularly in Wales.
-
to support other charitable bodies, including mainly Christian evangelistic and humanitarian missions in the UK and Overseas.

to maintain links with a variety of Churches and Bodies in Wales.
Specific events during the year were…
-
in May to arrange the Baptism of a new member. A short Sunday service was held in Bryn y Groes, then the Baptism in the leisure centre swimming pool followed by refreshments at Bryn y Groes.

for July & August to host Sunday services in Canolfan Bro Tegid for the Young Peoples camps taking place at Bryn y Groes.

during October to hold a Harvest Supper at Bryn y Groes. The meal in the dining room was followed by a talk in the lounge by Dafydd Job from Bangor and was attended by ~40 people.

during December our Carol Service was held at Bryn y Groes with cuppa and minces pies followed by a fellowship lunch.

In late March we had a farewell lunch at the Golfclub for our Elder and his wife who had been in the church for ~10 years. They had managed Bryn y Groes but were returning to South Wales.

[7] Tab: Expend Apr22-Mar23 shows Nest Pension payments on the date the money was debited from the Current Account. Payments were made during the year to correct for underpayments during the year 2020/21 and to ensure that the Nest payments matched the monthly payslips.

[8] Tab: Expend Apr22-Mar23 shows the HSBC monthly "Activity Charges" and "Account charges" introduced on 20th Nov 2021. These are shown on the last day of the charging period. Moves were made during the year to pay some items by Bank Transfer so reducing the charges.
