Having had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit, the trustees, (including the pastor / minister of the church), work to promote the ministry of the church in every way. This includes pastoral ministry to members and others who attend, evangelistic ministry to those outside the church, care for those in the community and overseas, and mission ministry supporting friends working in other parts of the world. They are committed to following the teaching of the Bible in the activities; and the church’s basis of faith reflects that commitment.

**Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)**

The continuing prevalence of COVID-19 during the year affected some of the normal opportunities for the Church to benefit the public.

But despite this:

- The Church has maintained its life as a worshipping and witnessing community.

- For first part of the year the Church provided opportunity to meet together; on Sundays for worship and on Wednesdays for bible study & prayer, at the Bryn y Groes Conference Centre.

- For the remainder of the year the Church returned to the Canolfan for Sundays worship and on a Wednesday, for bible study & prayer.

- Gareth Williams (the ‘Minister’) has continued to serve as the minister of the Church. and as a visiting lecturer / speaker to students in further education.

- The Church continues to support through other charitable bodies Christian Mission in Wales and Overseas.

## **Additional details of objectives and activities (Optional information)**

Section D Achievements and performance

## **Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**

The continuing prevalence of COVID-19 during the year affected some of the normal opportunities for the Church to benefit the public. However despite this the Church was able:

- to maintain its life in the town of Bala as a worshipping, witnessing and welcoming community.

- from April to August to provide opportunities to meet together; on Sundays for worship and on Wednesdays for bible study & prayer using the Bryn y Groes Conference Centre, Sports Hall.

- from September to March the Church felt able to return to the Canolfan for worship on a Sunday and bible study & prayer on a Wednesday. Gareth Williams has continued the send out helpful notes from the Sunday Services and resources by email to help with home study and prayer.

- during October to hold a Harvest Supper at Bryn y Groes. The meal in the dining room followed by a talk in the lounge by Dafydd Cunningham from Denbigh was well attended by 30-40 people.

- also during October, to arrange a thanksgiving service to mark forty years since the Church was started in Bala, the speaker was Peter Milsom who was involved in the early days of the church.

- to be involved in helping with a number of funerals locally and further afield with minister Gareth Williams speaking.

- to diversify its ministry through a variety of means, including the teaching of students particularly in Wales.

- to support other charitable bodies, including mainly Christian evangelistic and humanitarian missions in the UK and Overseas.

- to maintain links with a variety of Churches and Bodies in Wales.
