The management of the band is by committee. At the 2024/25 AGM the committee consists of seven trustees and three co-opted members. The trustees are elected by and out of the band’s members at the Annual General Meeting. They hold office until the next Annual General Meeting and are eligible for re-election. Co-opted committee members are not trustees of the charity and cannot vote on any financial matters. The Musical Director attends committee meetings when appropriate and cannot vote on any financial matters. ## **C. Objectives and activities** - a) To advance, improve, develop and maintain public education in, and appreciation of, the art and science of music in all its aspects by any means the trustees see fit, including through the presentation of public concerts and recitals. - b) To further such charitable purposes or purposes as the trustees in their absolute discretion shall think fit. ## **D. Achievements and Performance** ## **Membership** In 2024/25 Hot Aire concert band had 72 members This is a decrease of 12 people from 2023/24 - 26 members play in Hot Aire! (the main band) - 7 members play in Fresh Aire! (the training band) - 37 members play in both bands (most of these people play their 2nd /3rd instrument) - 2 non playing members ## **Rehearsals** Fresh Aire! and Hot Aire! have rehearsals on Saturday morning from September to the end of July, except for Christmas and Easter. ## Hot Aire Concert Band Trustees Annual Report 1st September 2024 to 31st August 2025 ## **Performances** The band gave 23 performances in a wide range of venues and audiences - 2 events for the Bradford City of Culture - 2 private event - 3 charity concerts - 2 bandstands concerts - 3 concerts in care homes - 2 performances at The Harrogate Autumn Flower Show (Newby Hall) - 2 performances at The Harrogate Spring Flower Show (The Great Yorkshire Showground) - The Remembrance Day Service at Myrtle Park, Bingley - Our own Christmas Concert at St. Peter’s Church - The Ilkley Christmas Lights switch on event - Silsden Christmas Lights switch on event - Cottingley Christmas Carol Service - Shipley Celebrates Culture - Baildon Community Gardens 20th Anniversary Event ## **Summer Tour to Germany** In July 2025 the band had a successful summer tour to the Rhinelands in Germany. 48 people attended the tour. The band stayed at the Rhinehotel Wagner in Kamp-Bornhofen for 5 nights. Performed in 3 fabulous concert venues; a beer garden; a market place and a bandstand. The group had time to explore German food and culture. The Feedback from the attendees was excellent and many wonderful memories were made for everyone involved. The summer tour was booked and organised through Rayburn Tours. ## **E.
