Trust area expanded to 41 locations.
We responded
toa total of2228 calls in the full year which is an average
of6calls/day
although
it did peak at 11calls on one day.
Fleet Changes.
The Henry Surtees Foundation
notified us that they would
be unable to
continue to supply a carfree ofcharge for use on the daily run to deliver
fresh
blood and plasma tothe Great North Air Ambulance
at Langwathby
when the current leasing agreement
expired
in September
2021.
Their continuous
support since early 2015has been greatly appreciated.
The Committee agreed totake on this responsibility
and purchase an
additional
car dedicated to this task. With the uncertainty
ofnew car
delivery dates, a low mileage used Mazda CX-3was purchased
on 14~
May, fitted out in Group livery and put in storage pending the end ofthe
Surtees lease on 17 September 2021.
We now have a fleet all ofwhich are less than four years old comprising:
4 Yamaha FJR1300Motorbikes
2 BMW F800 Motorbikes
5 Mazda CX-3Cars.
Financial Support
During the year, we have been supported
by 17individual
members

the public, community
groups and businesses
who donated f85,784.50.
With the agreement
ofCrown Commercial
services to indude
Blood
Bike
groups
in the NHS fuel procurement
framework,
we changed to using BP
Fuel Cards in January 2021 and were induded
in the BP
Fuel's initiative
offree fuel for liveried Emergency
Service vehides fora nine week
period
in Jan / March 2021 which was a saving ofapproximately
E3,100.00.
