Structure, governance and management

UK4JESUS MINISTRIES is a charitable incorporated organisation governed by its foundation constitution. The charity trustees are the members of the CIO and are responsible for its governance, strategic direction, safeguarding, financial stewardship and compliance. New trustees are appointed in accordance with the constitution, having regard to the skills, experience and commitment needed by the charity.

Objectives and activities

The charity’s principal purpose is to advance the Christian faith, in accordance with its statement of beliefs, for the benefit of the public in the United Kingdom and in any other parts of the world the trustees may decide. In planning the charity’s activities, the trustees have had regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit.

Activities, achievements and public benefit

Following the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the closure of the church’s former London activities, the trustees continued the process of rebuilding the ministry. During the year the organisation recommenced limited church activity and undertook planning and organisational work for the restoration of regular worship services and community-facing social projects. These steps were carried out without receipt or expenditure of charity funds because the former bank account remained closed.

The trustees consider that the work of restoring accessible worship and community support is directed toward the charity’s purposes and intended public benefit. No grants were made, no staff were employed and no trustee received remuneration or other benefit from the charity during the period.

Financial review

The charity received no income and incurred no expenditure in the year. It held no cash at bank or in hand at 31 October 2025 and no other assets or liabilities were recorded. The accounts have therefore been prepared on a nil-transactions receipts and payments basis.

Reserves policy and going concern

At the year end the charity held no reserves. A conventional target expressed as months of expenditure was not meaningful while expenditure was nil. The trustees intend to review and adopt an appropriate operational reserves target when regular income and activities resume. The trustees believe it is appropriate to prepare the accounts on a continuing basis because they intend to continue

the CIO, are pursuing a new bank account and are planning the phased return of services and projects. The charity has no recorded liabilities requiring settlement from unavailable funds.

Risk management

The principal risks identified were the absence of banking facilities, loss of operational continuity, safeguarding risks as public activity resumes, and weak financial controls during restart. The trustees’ planned responses include completing bank onboarding, requiring trustee oversight of all funds, retaining supporting records, reviewing safeguarding arrangements before activities expand, and documenting risk and serious-incident procedures.

Plans for the next period

The trustees plan to secure suitable banking facilities, rebuild regular church services and relaunch social projects during 2026. Any resumption will be phased according to available people, premises, safeguarding arrangements and funds. All money received or spent for the charity will be recorded through the charity’s accounting records and subject to trustee-approved controls.

Funds held as custodian trustee

The charity held no funds or assets as custodian trustee on behalf of another body.

Trustees’ responsibilities

The trustees are responsible for preparing the trustees’ annual report and accounts in accordance with applicable law. They must keep accounting records sufficient to show and explain the charity’s transactions, disclose its financial position with reasonable accuracy, safeguard its assets and take reasonable steps to prevent and detect fraud and other irregularities. The trustees are also responsible for ensuring that the charity acts in furtherance of its charitable purposes and for the public benefit.

Notes to the accounts

1. Basis of preparation

The accounts have been prepared on the receipts and payments basis permitted for an eligible noncompany charity with gross income not exceeding £250,000. Receipts and payments are recognised only when cash is received or paid. The comparative figures are drawn from the charity’s 2024 Annual Return, which reported nil income and nil expenditure, and the trustees’ records.

2. Funds

The charity had one unrestricted general fund. No restricted or endowment funds were held.

3. Nil financial activity

There were no receipts, payments or movements of cash during the year. The closure of the former bank account meant the charity had no bank balance at the beginning or end of the period.

4. Trustees and related parties

No trustee received remuneration, expenses or any other benefit from the charity. No related-party transaction was recorded.

5. Employees and volunteers

The charity employed no staff. Ministry rebuilding relied on unpaid trustee and supporter input; no monetary value is included for donated time.

6. Grants, guarantees and commitments

No grants were made. The charity had no recorded guarantees, secured debts, contractual commitments or contingent liabilities at the year end.

7. Independent examination

Gross income did not exceed £25,000. Accordingly, an independent examination is not required by the Charities Act 2011 unless the governing document or another specific requirement imposes one.

8. Events after the reporting date

After the year end, the charity continued its application for a new bank account and its preparations to restore regular services and social projects. No adjusting financial event has been identified.
