Annual Report 2024 Charity No. 1159013

Summary of objectives of the charity

Network Suffolk objectives are to advance the Christian religion in accordance with the statement of faith in Suffolk for the benefit of the public, in particular (but not limited to) holding prayer meetings, public meetings, and the celebration of religious festivals and the production and/or distribution of Christian literature

Summary of the main activities undertaken to the public benefit in relation to the objectives

Network Suffolk is a hub for churches, Christians and local organisation in Suffolk who have a heart for the county. We want to share the good news stories of all that is going in our communities as people striving to change and serve the county in Jesus’ name. We think the things that God is doing through the people of Suffolk is worth talking about and working together we think we can do so much more. Our areas of activity are providing a place to tell these stories and share what is going on, predominantly through our web site and social media.

We aim to provide resources to improve communication across communities in Suffolk;

website and social-media (Facebook)

encouraging people to tell their stories to a wider audience

Summary of main achievements of the charity during the year

2024 saw the Network Suffolk operations run in a stable manner, with the web site and Facebook being the main sources of communications. Stories and articles now form the main stay of what we do – including weekly email bulletins and links via the Facebook page and group.

Entapris provide a stable platform for hosting the web site as well as providing technical support operationally and developmentally.

During 2024 discussions were being held with Churches Together in Suffolk to take over the operation of Network Suffolk. This would include CTiS taking over the

financial responsibility of running the web hosting with Entapris. By the end of the year discussions were ongoing.

As a result of the above Julie Mansfield is voluntarily sourcing stories and maintaining the web site and social media.

Finance Review

Costs are kept relatively low and are now stable (£25/month hosting and support).

Any additional costs are for one-off licences (such as the mapping tool on the web site) and domain ownership.

Network Suffolk is currently operating without financial support and the bank account balance would suggest that operations can continue at this level for the next few years whilst all avenues are explored to transfer the operations to another organisation.

Structure Governance and management

Network Suffolk is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation governed according to the constitution dated 16thSeptember 2014. The charity trustees manage the affairs of Network Suffolk. The trustees are responsible for keeping sufficient accounting records that disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 2011. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of Network Suffolk and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities. Membership of the CIO is restricted to its trustees. There must be at least three charity trustees, although there is no maximum number of charity trustees. New trustees must be appointed for a term of three years by a resolution passed at a properly convened meeting of the charity trustees. In selecting individuals for appointment as charity trustees, the charity trustees must have regard to the skills, knowledge and experience needed for the effective administration of the CIO. Trustees will induct new trustees with a copy of the constitution and the latest Trustees‟ Annual Report and Accounts. Decisions are made by simple majority of votes at a meeting of trustees or by resolution made in writing or in electronic form and agreed by all trustees.
