ABC is a small grant funding organisation committed to professionalism, transparency and accountability. Sound management of donor funds is a priority for the Board and we are confident that the policies and procedures introduced to protect and manage potential financial risk are thorough and robust. 

Having identified need/beneficiaries and grass roots projects that meet our criteria we are now working with a number of local projects and community based agencies to address the need across 3-4 countries. 

Every project in receipt of funding from ABC Africa is required to sign a Memorandum of Understanding which clearly lays out each party’s responsibilities. We require financial accountability for purchases made against the grant as well as quantitive and qualitative assessment of the impact of the grant. Future funding is dependant on satisfactory receipt of financial accounts and monitoring. 

We continue to focus on raising funds in order to commit grants as well as apply for match funding in partnership with projects overseas. 

Our ‘portfolio’ of projects continues to grow and we now have an established relationship with projects in 3 countries. 

Covid has had a significant impact on in country operations and that is reflected in overseas spend this year

ABC Africa wants to make a difference to as many orphaned and vulnerable children as we can by simply and directly providing food, medication and education to orphaned and vulnerable children in Sub Saharan Africa. ABC Africa supports communities and grass roots projects to feed, educate and provide health care for their children by: providing nutritious food through school feeding projects, school porridge clubs and food by prescription programmes providing medication and health prevention supplies providing school supplies, transport and tuition. **Uzima, Tanzania Summary of the main activities** The ‘Food First’ programme continues to run. The focus of our grant making is based on addressing the consequences of living in absolute poverty; lack of food, medication and education. Other than bank charges we operate as a zero admin charity and so volunteering be it Trustee time, gifts in kind etc is the life blood of our organisation. Our aim is to formalise the volunteering going forward.

Through grants made by ABC Africa we have been able to relieve hunger, sickness and distress and provided educational advancement. 

Due to ABC Africa and our amazing supporters, partners and volunteers: 

Under very difficult circumstances and in a global pandemic ABC Africa and its partners continued to provide much needed nutritional food for approx 70 children

UK donors are our principal source of funds. Funds are raised through our supporter base. Support comes from awareness raising events. 

Periodically we apply for grants so as to offer projects more sustainable funds. 

We are registered with on line shopping platforms which gives us some funding as well as Just Giving and Charities Trust 

We have a rigorous system in place for the allocation of funds and all potential applicants for funds are assessed in relation to their capita to meet our charitable objects and ensure full compliance with our accounting and monitoring requirements. 

Our trustees committed to funding administration costs for the first 2 years. Since then our only administration costs have been bank charges which are unavoidable and the web site domain - however the web site domain is paid for by the trustees
