## Trustees Report 

Year ended 31st December 2023 

The trustees who served during the year end and up to the date of this report present their report and the financial statements for the year ended 31st December 2023. 

Structure, governance and management 

The trustees have the power to appoint any person to be a trustee in accordance with the provisions of the Trust Deed. An appointed trustee holds office within the limits permitted by law. 

## Objectives and activities 

The objective of the trust as set out in its governing document is to provide medical help for children. The charity's main objective is to provide assistance to young and vulnerable children and those people who are struggling to get access to specific needs. 

## Financial review 

It is the policy of the charity to maintain unrestricted funds at a level which equate to approximately 12 months unrestricted expenditure. This provides sufficient funds to cover management and administration and support costs. 

## Statement of trustees’ responsibilities 

The trustees are responsible for preparing the annual report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice. Law applicable to charities in England and Wales requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of charity's financial activities during the year and of its financial position at the end of the year. In preparing financial statements giving a true and fair view, the trustees are required to: 

- select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently; 

- make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent; and 

- prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in operation.

The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
