202312024 has been a very positive yearfof FOAP as we began to 8Ct positively afterthe
restrictions of lockdown. The Grade 2 listed builoingAbbeyfield House is obviously a priority but
equallythe interests and well being of ourcommunity. Here are some ol the actions of the
previous yearand a sketch of our intentions torthe next.
Abbeylield House
This yearwe have worked with partners 8t SCC wtth contractors installing a newfire 81ami
system, clearing and lightingthe house cellais. with a new fire exit from the community room,
to be completed imminentty.
The Stables Project

We were keenly aware of reinMgoratingTh¢ Stsbie5 and engaged with a (Jedic8ted heritage
officer from Sheffield City Council to laythe foundations of a firm and pr8Ctical partnership to
bringthe building back into community use . Plans include a neigttbourhood kitchen an¢Y café.
youth and sports base, a purpose-buili makers workshop and accessible toilets.
The partnership led 10 the acquisition of health and well-being fvnding£14.5k lorthe M and E
survey and architects drawings require(J to initiate buiLdingwork- 8llwhich have all now
completed. So FOAP is now atthe stage of fundraisingtorthe project. negotiating a buildings
Lease from SCC and applyingfor Planning Permission. An EOI lexpression of interest) has
already been suLTrmitted to the UKGOVCommuntty (Mnership Fund for £250k and has been
positively received with guidance on the next steps.

small businesses. many ol which are rurb and worked in by local people The project involves
workingwtth local schools to deliver environmental awaieness. designing and producing a
physical directory. running a Mental Health First Aid course with VAS. creating a volunteer
environmental group. a Somali8n women's business forum. hoLiJing a Large scale outdoor
m8rket 8n¢J mini festtval in Autumn to celebrate the cultures of the 8Tea. plus delivering
environmenial training to over 20 businesses. ERF2 is working closely with Cllr Saliya Saeed and
Adam Yusul of ISRAAC. The projects h8s allowed us to build 8 new partneiship with Darnall
Health and Welibeingwith aims to share actions and development in the future.

Abbeyfield Festival ran successfulty againthis yeaTWlth a third profiled forJuiy28" 2024,
Featuring local initiatives. artists and musician the event was initiated post Covid to bringthe
communwtytogether and h85 now become a regular much aniicipaied fixture marked by rts
diversity antt community cohesion.
It features Iwe music, children's activities, hot food. an annual dog show. the Pitsmoor Open
Exhibition. Garden Teas within Abbeyfield Gardeners. displays and slalls. In collaboration with
local charity Pftsmoor Adventure Playground. Funded by NE LAC, The Church Burgesses
FLJnd. Archers HousingAssociation. DINA an¢J Sheffield Town Trust.
Abbeyfield House is home to many groups including the Abb¢yfi•ld VoLuntary Gardèners
Group who create resources and produce the parklands displays and borders. This year the
group have la¢ilitated the Bread Oven sit down ale8 , green waste bins, and developed new
beds at Ihe Abbeytield Road enlrance. They are currently doing a community survey
eslablishingiurther plans with our communityfor a re¢re8tional garden to the right of the house
and restoringthe youth shelteito the left of theAbbeylield Road enlrance.

NewGroups and events have lormeo at Abbeyfield House this year 8
adding to the tynamism and activity of the house includingAbbeyfield Arts. The Goat Stomp
YASY youth training. music and theatre rehearsals. fFgr8yan Community Meetings , 8 regular
Community Development Workers Course. Quaker gatherings.
Next years actions
ans forThe St8bles involve designing a fijnding matrix. applying for funding. and subsequently
scheduling contractors. SCC Architects plans currently indicate 8 refvrbishment budget of
£650k ofwhich £SOk is alreadysecured from the NE Shettield LAC.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended **31 March 2024**
