Our mission remains:

## **CA** R **ING FO** R **OU** R **LAN** D **SCAPE AN** D **GEOLOGICAL HE** R **ITAGE**

Oxfordshire Geology rT ust (formerly the Oxfordshire RIGS Group) was founded in 2000. OGT is a non-proft making o rganisation with two p rimary objectives:

- **1** . **To** r **p otect an** d **conse** r **ve geological sites an** d **ou** r **lan** d **scape** : Working with landowners we rp otect locally important sites through surveying and then designating them as Local Geology Sites (formerly known as RIGS R- egionally Important Geological and Geomorphological Sites), which can then be rp otected through the planning process. OGT has designated over 60 sites within the county.

**2** . **To** r **aise awa** r **eness of the county's** r **ich an** d **va** r **ie** d **Ea** r **th He** r **itage an** d **geology** : The only way that sites can be rp otected is if people believe that they ra e worth rp otecting. OGT oversees a series of rp ojects and undertakes events at raising awareness both within local communities and in partnership with other ro ganisations, of the geo- importance of these sites. The Geology rT usts is a national umbrella ro ganization for Geo-conservation and Earth Heritage, and rp ovides a forum in which its members share di eas, develop best rp actice and organize inter-county p rojects and collaborative work with other conservation o rganisations. During the Covid-related restrictions and lockdowns of 2020-21, OGT suspended its public activities but continued to maintain its links with ro ganisations, including other GT’s, Geo-conservation UK, Natural England and the Geologists’ Association, and in county with OCC (Library Service and Primary Schools), TVERC, BBOWT, F riends of the Lye Valley (FoLV), and the Lower Windrush Valley Project (LWVP), plus working with the local district councils on geo-conservation enquiries related to planning applications. The OGT committee remains committed to organising future events in accordance with government guidelines and is planning to resume activities in the latter part of 2021. The Chair ofers his sincere thanks to the OGT Executive for their support, and along with the Executive ofers our best wishes to all OGT members and supporters.

## AGM July 2021

TREASURER’S REPORT for the financial year 2020-21

## **Balance sheet**

The end-year balance totals £15,908, of which £13,331 is held in a current account, and £2,577 in a reserve (P1) account.

## **Income and expenditure account**

Our financial ledger, invoices and statements for the year have been independently checked by Mr Brian Smith, whose help is gratefully acknowledged.

We received no project grants during the year and the only income was £90 from the sale of trail guides. Expenditure was £1,264, including £792 for rent of a store room and £285 for insurance costs. Expenditure exceeded income by £1,174.

## **Projected cash flow 2021-2022**

With reduced activities due to Covid 19, OGT income may be less than £250, whilst expenditure is likely to remain around £1,250. If the anticipated budget shortfall comes from our accumulated existing funds, it could leave an end-year total bank balance of around £15,000.

W.T. Horsfield OGT Treasurer
