Needs or Dlsabilities). We are based in South Tyn85ide and s8rv8 the North East of
England

From Aprll 2024 to March 2025, The Kayak8 experfenced meanlngful growth and deeper
impact across 811 are88 of our work. As a Ibved-experience-led organisatlon, we
strengthened support for dlsabled children, young people and thelr familles whlle
expanding opportunltlè8 for leadarshlp, connectlon and personal development.
We Increased outreach to parents and carers, offering more conslstent touchpolnts and
wldenlng access to early support. F8milies benefited from clearer communlcation. more
opportunlties to shara thèlr experiences and stronger peer networks. Thls reduced
Isolation and ensured familles felt heard, valued and part of a supportlve communlty.
Young people took part In accredited tralnlng that built confid8nce, communlcation 8ki118
and practical knowledge. These opportunStS6s enabled partlclpants to take on new
responsiblliti8s. Snduding volunteering and1è8d8rship roJ88 WithSn Kayaks. reflocting our
commltment to nurturlng dlsabled young peopl8 as leaders in thelr own rlghL Thls Is made
posslble by our funders, members and volunteers.
Our 1￿25 support group continued to flourlsh, becoming a vibrant space where young
adults cfrdesigned activities and shapad the direction of the 9roup. S888ion8 focused on
8oclal ski118. budgetlng. wellbeing and event planning, wlth growing attendance and
Sncreasing ovfflership from member8.

The trustees have reviewed the reserves of the Ch8rity. Their policy is to aim to hokl
enough funds lo meet three months operating costs of the Charity.

Future Plans
In the year ahead, we wlll strengthen famlly support, expand opportunRle8 for disabled
young adults and bulld partnershlp8 that allgn wlth our mlsslon ol ensuring cholce, volce
8nd opportunlty for all.

The trustees of the organisation are ￿sponsible for the preparation of
accounts., they consider that an audit is not required for this year under
section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 and that an Independent
Examination is ne8ded.
It is my responsibilty to
• examine the accounts (under section 145 of the 2011 Act),
• follow the procedures laid down In the General Dlrections given by the
Charlty Commission (under section 145(5)(b) of the Act), and
state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
