We now employ Tina for 8.5 days p/m to support with co-ordinating our fundraising events, to apply for grants, to manage our social media and website, and other administrative tasks linked to the day-to-day running’s of the charity. She keeps a log of work completed and continues to develop her skills and network by applying for free courses when available. We are considering the option of appointing additional trustees. This is something that we are currently discussing. - We have 11 non-executive advisors that support us with keeping up to date in the various fields of microtia, including: hearing technology advancement, ear reconstruction or prosthetic methods, psychological perspectives and understanding visible difference. - Our relationship with the hearing aid technology companies (Cochlear, Oticon, and MED-EL) continues, and they have sponsored our London event again, along with the charity website and the printing of a few of our resources. We also continue working alongside of them – advertising their latest technology and events with the wider community. The hearing aid companies also send us free merchandise and information leaflets from their companies, which allowed us to post these out for free to families. We continue having good working relationships with other charities e.g. CSSEF, Auditory Verbal UK, Changing Faces, Goldenhar, National Deaf Children’s Society, CLAPA, Face Equality National (which we sponsor) and BATOD and these have led to various continued collaborations. **on public benefit)**|**We celebrated 10-years of being a charity.**Throughout the year 2024, we held
various celebratory events or discounts in aid of celebrating 10-years of being a
charity.
**Our London event took place in June 2024.**We offered free activities, food and
a range of talks from medical professionals and those born with microtia to talk
about lived experiences. The day was a huge success with hearing aid
companies sponsoring the day as well.
**Charity members were able to come together in Bristol in August 2024.**
Charity members came together to hold a Bristol Mingle in a church room. It
was a lovely fun day.
**Charity members requested local buildings to light up in orange in November**
**2023.**A range of families volunteered their time to ask local buildings to light
up in orange for microtia awareness day. We had more buildings than before
and will continue the tradition next year.
**The Microtia UK website was fully updated with a whole new look and**
**continues to be updated on a regular basis and backed up**which
provides free and up to date information for people with microtia. Sections
include resources, frequently asked questions, inspirational life stories, and
information about fundraising events.
**Free information booklets distributed.**This includes our New Parents Guide
and Reconstruction booklet, as well as our charity leaflets to help raise
awareness and give support to families. These are also downloadable from the
website for free.
**Charity awareness raising merchandise distributed**to raise awareness of the
condition within the community and to raise funds for Microtia UK. The items
also help to promote positive self-image (including pin badges, books, teddies,
clothing, Christmas cards, bracelets, trolley coins, bags). We created new
bumper stickers for cars in the shape of our charity logo.
**Virtual monthly meetings with families and professionals continued.**Our
monthly virtual meet continued, where families could come together to share
stories, ask questions, get to know one another and speak with medical
professionals. This has been a great success, and we will continue to do the

**the year**|**Blue Sky CAD sponsored our charity again for 2024.**The company director has
microtia himself and is keen to support our charity which we are very thankful
for. This year, his sponsorship helped to create a new fundraising pack for those
who choose to raise awareness or funds for Microtia UK. This included creating
a new money collection box, charity balloons, charity flags, and charity head
sweatbands.
**We received our new right-sided microtia elephant teddy.**The new teddy
completes our collection of right, left and bilateral microtia elephants.
**Continued support and growing as a charity.**We continue to grow and develop
every year as a charity, supporting more families than ever before. We are keen
to continue reaching more people by raising more awareness about microtia.
**Our website has been updated.**The website had a full revamp with new
images and information. The hearing aid companies were given the opportunity
to update their personal pages too.
**Free information leaflet handed out for new parents/carers**which outilines
what to expect when you have a baby with microtia and where to go for
support. Medical professionals also share this leaflet with their patients. It is
downloadable from the website.
**We continue using all our social media accounts**with a growing number of
followers. This includes the use of Instagram, YouTube, Twitter and Facebook.
We also use WhatsApp as a contact method and have our own charity phone
number.
**We continued our link with Run For Charity to help us find new fundraising**
**events.**Linking with them means we have less unfilled places. Participants set
up fundraising pages which were shared on social media. We fully support
those who would like to fundraise or help raise awareness for our charity. We
give out medals / trophies to thank our fundraisers.
**Daily support and advice**for our charity members. This is given through our
online support group, social media accounts, email and telephone. We also
have our monthly virtual meets.
Microtia UK have been involved with the following fundraising events in 2023-
