McGraa| ||18 Poulton Green Close| ||Bebington| ||Wirral| ||CH63 9FS| ## **Link Up Report 2022-23** ## **Objectives of Charity** - The relief of persons in conditions of poverty by the provision of support, advice and training. - The advancement of education - The promotion and preservation of good health, both psychological and emotional, of persons in the community in particular by the provision of counselling. - The advancement of the Christian faith and the worship of God by any means whatsoever including (but without limitation) the support of churches and Christians in their Christian endeavours. ## **Review of Charity** In the year April 2022 to March 2023 our key activities included: ## Church Leaders Network & Prayer Breakfasts We were pleased to be able to hold monthly in-person meetings. These gatherings enable connection and collaboration, enabling peer support and encouragement. ## Youth and Children’s Leaders Network During the year this networked was able to work towards a joint event for young people, bringing together young people from a number of local churches, Thy Kingdom Come This year Link Up helped to encourage promote engagement with this national initiative. It has been encouraging to see continued engagement and co-operation between churches across the Chester and wider area. Geoff Thompson Chair of Trustees – January 2024 ## **LINK UP WEST CHESHIRE** ## **ACCOUNTING POLICIES FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31[ST] MARCH 2023** ## **Basis of preparation** The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the Statement of Recommended practice (SORP) “Accounting and Reporting by Charities” published in October 2000 and applicable accounting standards. ## **Fund accounting** General Funds are unrestricted funds which are available for use at the discretion of the Trustees in furtherance of the general objectives of the charity and which have not been designated for other purposes. Designated funds comprise unrestricted funds that have been set aside by the trustees for particular purposes. The aim and use of each designated fund is set out in the Report of the Trustees. Restricted funds are funds which are to be used in accordance with the specific restrictions imposed by the donors, or which have been raised by the charity for particular purposes. The cost of raising and administrating such funds are charged against the specific fund. The aim and use of each restricted fund is set out in the Trustees Report. ## **Incoming resources** All incoming resources are included in the Statement of Financial Activities (SOFA) when the charity receives them. Gifts in kind donated for distribution are included at valuation and recognized as income when they are distributed to projects. Donated facilities are included at the value to the charity where this can be quantified and a third party is bearing the cost.
