|Contribution made by<br>volunteers|Para 1.38|All of the trustees for the Charity give their<br>time voluntarily. They have received no<br>remuneration or other benefits for their<br>volunteer work. The trustees carry out a<br>program of fundraising activities with the<br>help of preschool staff. These activities<br>include Christmas Fairs, Bingo nights,<br>Quiz nights, and various inhouse<br>events/performances selling various<br>homemade gifts that the children have<br>made.|

We offer a safe, fun and<br>stimulating environment in which children<br>can learn through play. Children have<br>opportunities to grow emotionally as well<br>as physically, to develop their<br>communication and language skills, and<br>to increase their self-confidence and self-<br>awareness.<br>We make sure that parents are fully<br>informed about their children's learning<br>and development. And have great<br>relationships with all parents.<br>Parents are very complimentary about the<br>pre-school with staff inviting parents to<br>children's progress meetings and share<br>ideas and activities to support further<br>learning at home regularly.<br>Children are well prepared for their move<br>on to school. This is because of the very<br>good transition arrangements and the<br>strong relationships with the local schools<br>and other settings that children attend.<br>Staff create a warm and welcoming<br>environment.<br>Children are happy, confident and enjoy<br>the time they spend at pre-school. They<br>quickly settleinto activities onarrivaland|





make independent choices. n Children's behaviour is very good. They are very patient with each other and are kind and caring. Staff are kind and caring and good role models for children. Staff very successfully encourage children to treat each other with the utmost respect. They give very clear messages to children about acceptable behaviour.

## **Financial Review** 

|Review of the charity’s<br>financial position at the end<br>of the period|Para 1.21|Annual income from childcare was<br>£38,718 down by £1990 from the year.<br>This is due to a reduction in Grant income<br>of £3684.<br>However, costs were also much higher,<br>with an increase in rent and resources<br>costs.<br>This reduced the surplus for the year to<br>£10,398 compared with £15,497 the<br>previous year. The financial position and<br>cash balances at the year-end remained<br>very strong. In past years the charity has<br>been reliant on fundraising events to<br>cover income shortfalls but with the cost-<br>of-living crisis we are finding that people<br>are reluctant to spend money and donate<br>to charity.|
