The t￿SteeS present their annual report and financial ststeThnts for the year ended 31 August 2024.
The financtal statements have been prepared in accordance with the a￿)UntIng policies set out in note 1 to the
nancial State￿nts and compty with the charit￿S goveming document, the Charities Act 2011 and"Accounts'ng and
Reporting by Charities". Statement of Recommended Prath"ce applicable to charities preparing their accounts in
accordance wilh the Financial Reporting Stsndard applicabte in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS
102)- (effective 1 January 2019).

The charitable objectNe5 of Friend) of Bedonwell Schoots (FOB6) i? to rai¥e funding to provide actNth"es,
equipment and services to enhance the education of the children in the school.
The aim of the charity is to fijndraise b be able to meet the charitable objeL*r¥es.
The trustses have paid due regard to guidance issued by the Charty Commission in decmling what actmties the
charity should undertake.

tt is the policy of the charty that unrestricted fvnds which have not been designated for a specific use should be
maintsined at a Iwrfel equivalent to bet¥veen three and srx mnth's expendrture. The trustees consHler that reserves
at this level will ensure that in the event of a signifrant drop in funding. they will be able to continue the charty's
current actNities while consideration is gNen to vmys in which additsonal funds may be raised. This level of r8seNes
has been ffAintained throughout the year.
Structure, governanc• and managemènt
The cttanty is an unincorporated associatK>n and as su¢h the commiitee, W*￿ are trustee5 of the charty, are
personalty liable forthe acts and defaults of the charty.

1.1 A¢¢ounting conventlon
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance wrth the chartys goveming document, the
Charities Act 2011. FRS 102 'The Financial Reportsng Stsndard applicab￿ in the UK and Ropublic of
Ireland. fFRS 102.) and the Charities SORP "Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of
Rewmmended Practice appliGeble to Gharrties preparing their a￿o￿ntS in accordance Yiiih the Financial
Reporting Standard applicab￿ in the UK and Republic of Ireland {FRS 102)" (effective 1 January 2019). The
charty is a Public 8enefft Entity as defined by FRS 102.
The charity has taken advantage of the provisions in tho SORP for charitiès not to prepar• a Statunent ot
Cash FIov#5.
The financial ststements have departed from the Chants'es (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 only to
the extent required to provide a true and fair Vbew. This departure has involved following the Ststement of
Re¢ommended PractKe for charrt￿S apptying FRS 102 rather than th• version of the Ststement of
Recommended Pradi¢e véhich is referred to in the Rogulations but whleh has since bean withdr¥wn.
The financial ststements are prepared in stsrfing, vthich is the functional currency of the charty. Monetsry
amounts in these financial statements are rounded to the nearest £.
The financial statements have been prepared under the htstorical cost convention. The princip81 accounting
policies adopted are set out beltrw.
1.2 Going concern
At the of approwng the financtal ststements. the tnjstees have a reasonable expectstion that the chanty
has adequate resources to contnue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. Thus the trtstees
conb'nue to adopt tThe going concem basis of accounting in preparing the financial ststernents.
1.3 Charltabl• funds
Unrestricted ￿ndS are available for use at the discretion of the trustees in furtherance of their chantable
objethes.
Restrtcted fijnds are subject to spectfi¢ condrtK•ns by donors or grantors as to how they may be usod. The
purposes and uses of the restricted funds are Set out in the notes to the financial statements.
Endryknvment funds are subject to specffic conditions by donors that the capitsl rnust be maintsined by thg
charity.
1.4 Income
Income is recognised Nvhen the eharfty is logalty entitled to it after any perlomwnce conditions have been m8(
the arrnunts ¢an be measured reliably. and it is probable Ihat income will be received.
Cash donalions are recognised on receipt. Oiher donations are recognised onca the charity has been notifi8d
of the donats'on unless performance cond￿'0n$ require deferral of the amount. In￿rne tsx recoverablo in
relatM)n to donations received under Gfft ￿"d or deeds of covenant is reo)gnised at the time of tho donation.
Legacies are recogntsed on receipt or othefV•ise rf the charty h8s been notffi8d of an impending dstribution,

1A Expenditure
Expandi￿re is recognised onc• there is a legal or constructive obligation to transfer economic benefft to a

Expendrture is classified by activty. The costs of each activtty are made up of the totsl of dir￿1 costs and

1.8 Ca•h and ca•h equivahnts
Cash and cash equprfalents include cash in hand, deposits hekl at call wtth banks, other short-term liquid
investments wtth orvJinal maturities of three months or less. and bank overdrats. Bank overdrafts are shown
wrthin boThowings in current l￿blIrtIeS.
1.7 Flnancial in•truTh*nts
The charty has elected to appty the provisions of Section 11 'Basi¢ Financlal Instrurnents, and Section 12
'Other Financial Instruments Issues, of FRS 102 to all of its financial instruments.
Financial instruments are recognised in the chartys balance sheet when the charity becomes paty to the
contractual provisK)ns of the instrurrnnt.
Financial assets and IK8bilities are offset. wilh thè net amount5 presented in the financial statements, when
there is a begally enforceable right to set off the recognised amounts and there ts an intention to settle on a nèt
basis or to real￿e the asset and settle thè liabilty simultaneously.
Basic Ilnancl•l assets
Basic financial assets, whith indude debtor5 and cash and bank balances, are initialty measured at
transaction price including transaction wsts and are 5ubsequentty carried at amortised cost using the effective
interest method unless the arrangement constrtutes a financing transaction, where the transacts'on is
measured at the present value of the future receipts discounted at a market rate of interest. Financial assets
classified as receivable wrthin one year are not amortised.
