Stroud Handball Trustees have provided activities which have helped promote physical, mental and social well being through playing Handball. The club has run weekly Handball sessions which are open to all adult members of the community and have welcomed many new participants over the course of the year.

We have run sessions for ages: U12, U14, U16, U19 and adults, both for those wishing to take part in competition, and for those who wish to participate on a recreational basis.

**Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)**

This year we were able to send coaches to schools to further promote the club and the sport, including offering free sessions to local primary schools. As a result, we increased the number of members who attended the youth sessions.

## **Additional details of objectives and activities (Optional information)**

You **may choose** to include further statements, where relevant, about:

Section D Achievements and performance

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**

Maintaining our member base in the current economic climate has been a major success. Due to the hard work of volunteers, we have also been able to keep membership fees frozen in order to make the activities as accessible as possible for all members of the community.

We had a number of members (and former members) achieve personal success this year with 4 U19 girls representing Great Britain at the European Championships in Kosovo, and 4 U17 girls representing Great Britain at the European Championships in Turkey.

One of our partner schools, Stroud High School, won the National Schools competition with U15 girls, lead by one of our volunteer coaches. And both girls U16 and U19 Club teams reached the National Final.
