## **Trinity Church Everton**

## **Chairman’s Report – Simon Gilliland**

## **September 2024- August 2025**

Trinity Church Everton launched in 2013 with a clear vision to share the good news of Jesus Christ with our local community, and help grow people in their faith, knowledge and love of him. Over the past year, we have continued to pursue this vision, and are grateful to God for the many opportunities we’ve had to serve, witness, and grow together as a church family.

The year has been filled with passionate service to fulfil our vision, to be _“Gospel centered people sharing the good news, influencing North Liverpool for good, to the glory of God”._ As a Charity we have been spurred on to keep living for Jesus as we have studied the books of Ecclesiastes (which taught us how to live our lives well) and Hebrews (which showed us Jesus is better). We had a good time at Christmas investigating what the gospel of Luke taught about the birth of Jesus. In the summer we spent 3 weeks considering how to grow as Christians from Colossians 2:6-7. As well as studying these things on Sunday mornings it has been a joy to host 8 church lunches and an Around the World Sunday. These have been an encouraging time of fellowship and deepening relationships for anyone who came along.

Alongside our regular weekly activities of Lifegroups, Road to Recovery (addiction recovery group) and Restored (women's craft and bible study group) we have been pleased to start up a monthly Friday night youth group and monthly women's bible study group.

During the year we have had many highlights, here are two of mine. It was a joy at Easter time to baptise and welcome into membership two people who have come to faith during the last few years. It was encouraging to hear how God had been at work in their lives and how our church had helped them come to trust in the Lord Jesus. Another highlight was gathering together at Quinta for the weekend with hundreds of other Christians from churches in our network to be refreshed in our faith and encouraged.

As the church has grown we have been seeking to develop systems to help the church flourish as best as we can. This year members have focused on serving on one Sunday team, rather than lots of different rotas. It has been good to see people developing these teams and trying new ideas as well as welcoming others to serve in this way.

Trinity Church Everton has a passion to reach the people of Everton, but it has been good to grow our connections with what God is doing around the world. It was good to be able to raise some money to support gospel work in Poland during our Giving Sunday. During the year it was also heartening to have visits from missionaries that we support around the world, one working in Kenya and one in France

As of the end of August 2025, our membership stood at 39 people. We give thanks for each member and the unique contribution they make to the life and mission of our church.
