BUSYDAYS DAYCARE, QUEENS PARK HUB, SOUTH PARK, LINCOLN. LN5 8EW.

BUSYDAYS DAYCARE.CHARITY No. 1158531.

ANNUAL REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES.OCT 2022/OCT 2023.

Busydays membership is maintaining around 30/32 membership. It fluctuates as people move away from Lincoln or occasionally their financial circumstances change and they have to cut their hours to pay for extra money on their rent or care home rent. This is a great shame as it does mean that they cannot attend other settings either so can be isolated and unhappy as it isnt their choice to finish but circumstances.

As a charity we continue to look for funding both to be able to keep daily costs to our members down which we strive to achieve. We have 4 members attending who are fully funded for their attendance at Busydays.Others are provided with direct payments and some are self funders. This year we were lucky to receive a generous donation from the funeral of Graham Wright a long time supporter and friend of Busydays.£700.We invited his widow Pat Wright in to meet some of our members and have coffee and a chat when she presented some of the funeral collection money. The money was used to purchase computers for the members to use. These were purchased from a charity that refurbishes and sells on computers therefore 4 were purchased and the money helped with other activities we did. During the year visits were made to Butlins to attend 1 day of the ICE conference.Busydays also performed a drama sketch at ICE. Visit to The Deep. Visit to Wolds wildlife Park. Visit to Parrot Zoo. Visit to Skegness. Visit to Lincolnshire Show. Visit to Newark and air museum. All trips are fully funded by Busydays with no charge to members. Parties were held throughout the year -seasonal with easter eggs.Xmas presents. Plus parties and celebrations for the coronation when we invited another local day centre and some residents of a neighbouring care home.

We are continuing to be linked to Lincoln College,Lincoln University and Bishop Grosseteste University as a training establishment for students to attend for placement .This provides extra pairs of hands and fresh faces/ideas on a regular basis throughout the year. We have also benefitted with links to Lincoln Princes Trust who have volunteered occasionally ,gaining vital experience and allowing them to fulfil a citizenship part of their course. We continue to regularly litterpick in the local area and especially after fair or circus taking place on the local common to help tidy up for the local community.

Fundraising has taken place at the Hub’s Christmas fair,Spring fair and with a stall at Ancaster Day centre’s Christmas Fair.

This has helped to pay for trips to Christmas shows and pantomimes Plus Christmas presents and Christmas meal for all of the Busydays members.

The financial accounts have all been prepared and verified by Fawcetts Accountants and then submitted to the Charity Commision on Busydays behalf.
