Trustees are appointed from parents of the children attending the pre-school, and local
people whosuppartthe aims of the group. Trustees are elerted at theAnnual General
Meeting IAGMI according to the requirernents of the Constitution. Trustees are elected for
a pedod of three years, with retirements required on a rolling basis. Retiring trustees are
eligible for re-election. All trustees give their time freely aftd no trustee remuneration was
paid during the year. Dally administration of the group is delegated to the manager and staff
team.
Financlal revlew
The group is funded through fees, fundraising events and local authorlty fundlng. The
income enables the group to provide a high standard of quality childcare and equipment.
During the year the charlty received £76,467.The costof operating the group was £71,917.
The group made an operating surplus of £4,550.
The trustees are aware that the finances of the group are finely balanced, and the situation
is being monitored regularly to ensure that the groups remalns solvent and viable.
Reserves poIIcy
The trustee5 maintaln sufflclent cash reser¥es to fund worklng capltsl requirements and to
ensure the Continued ex5sten¢e of the playgroup should adminlstrators not achleve target
levels. The trustees have further determined that it will hold on reserve the equlvalent of
oneterni's running costs. to be used to effect a controlled wind down should the trustees
and members declde that it is In the Interest of the group to close, together with a fund to
pay ￿dUndanCY payments to staff members who are legally entitled to same.
Summary of the main artlvltles and achlevements far the year
The group has sole use of a spacious open plan hall durin8 opening hour5 and the use of a
small room for nurture groups, singing and stoWelling. The children also have access to an
enclosed coutyard garden for outdoor play, and make full use of the local community as we
are sltuated within easy walklng dlstance to shops, schools and the park.
We are reglstered to carefor chlldren aged 2-4years old, up to a maxlmum of 32 thildren
per session. We work to a ratio of 1'.6for overthrees and 1.4 for under threes. We are open
Mondays. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8.3019.00am to 3pm durfng term time
138 weeks of the year) and our session5 are 8,3019.30 til 12 and 12 til 3. Lunch is at 11.30am.
All children are entltled to 15 hours of free early years provision from the tenn after they
turn 3 years. Additionally, we can offer 2 year funding and 30 hours of funding for children If
vourfamily meets the criteria.

We have a graduate led team of experienced practitioners who update their training on a
regular basis. This is inclusive of mandatory courses such as Child Protection, Paediatric First
Aid and childcare qualifications as approprlate. We provide an environment in which all
children, including those with Special Educational Needs and disabilities are supported to
reach their full potential.
We plan and organise our envlrDnment and practlce to ensure that every child recelves an
enjoyable and challenging experience which is tailored to meet their individual needs and
interests. We provlde opportunlties to support and promote thelr overall development in a
safe. stimulating and caring atmosphere, created by appropriately trained, knowledgeable
practitioners with the involvement of all famille5 Within our community who are interested
in and support our aims. We take care to provlde artivitie5which use equipment
approprfate to the age and stage of development whlch will stimulate their Interests and
encourage investigation. Under supeThlsion. we allow children to explore risky and
challen8ing play to enable prartlce of existing skills and to build on and acquire new ones.
We believe in the importance of play to facilitate learning and development. All children
need to experlence a balan￿ of adult led, freely chosen or child initiated play and actmties
and experien￿5 tailored to their 5toge of development and taking occount of their
indivldual need5. Interests and learning styles.

The trustees are respon5ib5e for preparlng the Trustees, Annual Report and the Financlal
Statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards

The law applicable to charities in England and Wales requires trustees to prepare financlal
ststements for each financial year which gNe a true and fair view of the state of affairs of
the charlty and of the incomin8 resources and appliratlon of the resources of the charlty for
