Hope Church Gainsborough – Trustee Report

2025 has been a busy and faith-filled year for Hope Church, and we are so thankful for all that God has done among us. From our home at Marshall’s Yard, in the heart of Gainsborough, we have continued to welcome people in, serve our community, and share the hope we have in Jesus.
Our Sunday morning services have continued to be a real source of blessing, encouragement, and spiritual strength. Alongside this, we send regular emails to our church family to help us stay connected, share what God is doing, and care well for one another through the week.
We also continue to stream our Sunday sermons on YouTube and Facebook, so that the good news of Jesus Christ can reach beyond the room. This has been especially helpful for those who are unable to join us in person, enabling them to remain part of the life of the church.
During the week, we have been glad to keep our doors open through a range of activities that help people feel at home, build friendships, and take steps towards Jesus.
Our Tuesday Hope Kitchen has remained a warm and welcoming space, offering food, snacks, and drinks for all on a donation basis. We are grateful for the generosity that makes this possible, and for the opportunity to sit with people, listen, and show practical care—especially for those facing hardship across Gainsborough.
On Wednesdays, during term time, we gather for Bible study. It is a friendly, relaxed time to open Scripture together, ask questions, and encourage one another as we grow in faith.
Our youth group meets on Thursdays for fun and games, helping young people feel they belong. We provide free snacks and a mini pop-up sweet shop, along with a short time for meaningful conversations about how Jesus is relevant in our everyday lives.
During 2025, we were delighted to host several family events, including Picnic in the Park, Around the World (foodie night), our annual Big BBQ, The Big Night In, Glow Party, Campfire Sing-Along, and our Big Christmas Dinner. These events welcomed hundreds of people, providing food and care at no cost to those attending, and creating space for friendship, joy, and deeper community connections.
Our Men’s (Stronger) and Women’s (She) monthly events have continued to flourish, centred on Jesus and shared meals. Our annual ‘She is Real’ conference invited women from across the area to enjoy a day of discovering their identity in God’s love. This year we also held our second annual ‘Stronger XL’ day, inviting men from the church and wider community to come together and learn how to live as faithful men. We are thankful for these gatherings, which help the Hope Church family connect informally, encourage one another, and grow in discipleship.
As a church, we continue to provide food and sanitary parcels to those who are vulnerable or in need. We take time to listen and consider each situation individually, aiming to offer practical help with dignity and kindness, as well as signposting to relevant local services where appropriate.
On 19 December 2025, we acquired 17 Trinity Street (formerly the Gainsborough Sports and Social Club), with the assistance of a loan from Stewardship Services (UKET) Ltd. We are grateful for this provision and look ahead with faith as we steward this step.
We thank God for the Hope Church Gainsborough family, and for the ways we have seen growth and impact during 2025. We are encouraged by the stories of people being welcomed, supported, and pointed towards Jesus.
Above all, we hold on to the truth that Jesus is our hope, whatever challenges we may face, and we remain committed to loving God and loving our community.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31/12/2025 .
Responsibilities and As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation basis of report of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have examiner's statement come to my attention (other than that disclosed below *) in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:
