on our volunteers

at Southampton,

awarded| ||||||the Coach ofthe Year to Jon Tilt for his| ||||||dedication
to coaching and building a| ||||||welcoming

group, he
attended
the Hall of Fame and Awards| ||||||evening

Games Queens Baton| ||||||Relay came to Southampton
in the summer| ||||||and out ofthe ten baton bearers, two were| ||||||from SAC, Rob Shenton

vandalism| |which has now left our three cabins virtually| |unusable.

to a more secure location| |near the track. We are hoping that 2023 will| |bring good news and we will see the plans| |for the sports centre come to life with new| |stands

in supporting
the Pole Vault
Academy, the highlight
of which was Lexi
Trott being picked for English Schools in
the summer,
quite an achievement
for a| |first year U15 athlete. We also purchased| |an all-electronic
start system
which
will| |integrate seamlessly
with a Photo Finish
system when the track is able to have
it
installed,
and usage of EDM measuring| |equipment
has been implemented| |throughout
the summer.| |Our senior team in the National
Athletic| |League (NAL) were not able to hold onto
their place in the Premier division
and were
relegated to the Championship
league. Our
other senior team,
in the Southern
Athletics| |League (SAL) also faced relegation
with
the team finishing
in the relegation
zone but| |with another
club withdrawing
from that| |league we have kept our place in Division
1.While this may not be the best result for| |SAC the prospects for the future are| |promising
with a new wave of junior
athletes
ready to take their place in the
senior teams and over a dozen senior| |records broken this season.

summer season of2022 has at last
adopted a feeling of normality.
Membership
fees of246.4k have increased 24% in this| ||||financial year and have recovered to the
pre-pandemic
level of 2019, which is very
encouraging.
Although
there have been
occasional cancellations,
the Club has| ||||entered teams
in all age-group| ||||competitions
throughout
the winter X-| ||||Country season and summer
league
fixtures that Southampton
AC is affiliated| ||||to.We agreed to host two lower age Youth
Development
League and one Wessex
League fixture to ensure that our athletes
were able to take part in as many club| ||||competitions
as possible.
The Club
continues to suffer from the delay to the| ||||Sports Centre development,
although
we
have welcomed some cleaning
and track| ||||repairs which have improved
the facility
in| ||||the short term.| ||||The operating
surplus
for the financial year
to the end of September 2022 was 26,205.
The cost of hiring training
venues at 216.8k| ||||is still low (in comparison
to 222.6k two| ||||years ago) because ofthe effect of further
Covid closures during the winter months
and the closure ofthe track for 6weeks
in| ||||the summer to enable the repairs to be| ||||carried out. We are fully expecting
facility| ||||costs to increase back to pre-Covid
levels| ||||and have extended
this provision
further to| ||||include the thriving
pole vault group.| ||||Further investment
has been made into| ||||Club equipment
with new and second-hand| ||||poles purchased
for 21k, together
with an
EDM measuring
device for 22.8k,

received last year amounting
to| ||||242.4k) has been mostly retained

We took the decision not to arrange coach| ||||travel to league fixtures this summer,| ||||because ofthe escalatin

administer
the process and the loss of our
storage facility. Our remaining
supply of kit
valued at 23,877 will be sold online, with
the net proceeds to be returned
to the Club.

committee's

in the last two financial years
