The objecttves of the Charity are,.

The advancement of education within Romaldkirk, in the County cf Durham and the
neighbouring Parishes of Cotherstone, Lartington, Lunedale, Holwick, Hunderthwaite and
Baldersdale.
For the general benefit of the inhabitants in such charitable ways a5 the Trustees think fit
including benefits for the Beneficiaries.
Provision of Almshouse accommodation for Beneficiaries.
The Trustees follows the guidance contained in the Charity Commission's General Guidance on
public benefit when following the Charity's aims and objectives and in setting grant making policy for
the year.
Achievements and Performance:
During the year the Charity has provided accommodation for Beneficiaries of the Charity at Nos. l &
2 Hutchinson Terrace, Romaldkirk.

for selection of investments..
To select investments which have a managed risk to provide income for the Charity as well as capital
growth.
Income:
During the period I" January 2024 to 31" December 2024 the Charity received income totalling
£138.887.76. This included the sum of £97.000 grant from Homes England for the refurbishment of
the Almshouses at Hutchinson Terrace. The Charity received the Sum of £16,800 from the Bowes &
Romaldkirk Charitie5' Estate and £13,563 being Weekly Maintenance Charges from the Almshouses.
Reserves..
Financial reserves are held in Investment Funds and bank Accounts for rnaintenance and repairs of
the Charity's properties.
Reserves are kept in the farm estate's accounts to maintain and repair the farms,

state, on the basis of procedures specified in the G¢neral Directions given
by the Cbarity Commissioners under section 145(5)(b) of the Act, whether
particular inatters have coine to my attthition.
Basis of independent examiner s My examin&tion was carried out iii accordance with the General Directions
report given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of
tlie acwunttng ￿e0rdS kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts
presented with those records. It also iiicludes considcratioll of any unusiial
