TRUSTEES ANUAL REPORT 1[st] October 2024 - 30[th] September 2025

1158281/GUGU CENTRE CC:01200397

GUGU Centre: established in July 11[th] 2014 to carry out charitable purposes for the benefit of the public.

Our first annual meeting was held on 29 September 2025 at 197 Ramillies Road Sidcup, DA15 9JE. This was the date all the trustees were able to come together, due to the fact that all the trustees were fully engaged in their full-time jobs before this date.

Present at the meeting:

Rev. Sylvia Dapper Chair Mr Allen Cooper Project manager Ms Tina Ejiofor Secretary Mr Kenneth Eyre fundraising organiser

CIO’s OBJECTIVE :

To advance Christian religion for the benefit of the public

GUGU Centre’s Vision:

Our vision is to see that lost Christians are redirected back to the right track. And that they are not only blindly accepting a faith, but are open-eyed and open minded in the choice of route they take. Once that self motivation and realization begins we believe churches’ activities will be better appreciated by the wider community.

In order to bring our objectives and vision into view, we agreed that we would concentrate on the sale of the book TIME on which the GUGU Centre is based for the generation of funds to run the charity’s other financial commitments.

The sale of books is only a preliminary action for fundraising, as the long time plan is to raise funds through guests who would be visiting and using the facilities’ provided at the centre which is also referred to as ‘the person rehabilitation centre’. We believe that the centre would be able to generate enough money to maintain the daily requirements of the centre. The manifestation of this vision relies heavily on the centre being built in the location mentioned in our plan submitted to the commission.

Secondly, as the CIO is required to carry out activities that would be beneficial to the public, GUGU Centre will guide guests through time management within the 24-hour day. This particular benefit has been provided for individuals who contacted the chair person after they had read the book TIME for counselling and prayers, which they genuinely received. As a result, these satistied individuals have become the financial contributors to the charity.

A reviewer of the book TIME commented that the book had had such an impact on him and that he cannot wait to read the second volume of the book, TIME 2, and also to visit the Centre. He said, he is convinced that since the centre would be based on the book means that the centre will have much positive impact on the guests that would use the centre.

Our firm conviction is to work with people carefully in order to identify where they are at in their life’s journeys. Paying particular attention to their spiritual journeys, and be on standby to assist those who would like to be pointed back to where salvation really lies. This service we have been able to offer individuals who had gotten in touch for further assistance and clarification after reading the book TIME. this service has been offered at present through telephone conversations and/or through face to face meetings by appointment.

We have reduced the sale price of the book TIME on which the centre is based so that more and more people would be able to purchase and read the book, and eventually book a visit to the Centre when it finally opens after building. We are expecting that our generosity in giving away a book free would in turn spread the news of the centre and the book further afield.

Events

For this financial period, we carried out book launch and signage events.

We had forums where we were able to give advice and assistance over the phone and also had face to face discussions

Serious Disruption :

We had a disaster that affected the running of our programmes; which resulted in serious financial loses. The centre’s internet provider deleted our website and email address, according to them accidentally, which contained all the contacts we had built up from the book launch and signage events. This catastrophe was a big set back to the charity as we had all the contacts on that site. So we lost our website and our email contacts. We did not have any other form of communication at that time except though emails and relied solely on that for any contact list. The providers assured us that they would be able to recover the contents lost, but after several months of waiting, it was disclosed to us at last that the contents are lost and cannot be retrieved.

This is the person rehabilitation centre: Helping people to get back on track with time and with themselves. At the centre, we want to assist people to achieve a better personal life and a better relational life. We believe that for a person to achieve these qualities, the individual should begin by finding and spending time with ‘self’. This will involve prioritizing ‘selfness’ by allocating time for self-finding and also a willing heart for this rediscovery of ‘real-you’ to take place.

Due to the serious disaster as mentioned above, which resulted in us losing all our content and contacts, we were unable to operate fully for the rest of this financial period.

Once that self motivation and realization begins we believe churches’ activities would be better appreciated by the wider community.

In order to bring our objectives and vision into view, we agreed that we would continue promoting the sale of the book TIME, in which the centre is based and in addition, we decided to hold an unusual charity event, in order to make our charity more noticeable as there are so many charities and different events held throughout the year.

Events

For this financial period, we carried out book launch, signage and exhibition events. We had forums where we were able to give advice and assistance over the phone and also had face to face discussions

We held a charity walk event in July 2016, when we walked from Kent to Marble Arch in London. There have been so many charity walk events but in this case, we walked barefoot which we were told was the first of its kind. Some of us walked barefoot and some who could not manage walking barefoot on wet ground, walked with shoes on, because the day was sadly a wet day. we planned to start the walk at the first light of day, but waited for the rain to ease a little, and so the walk started at 7.30am. We got to London at about 3.00pm, but we were slowed down in central London because of the dense crowd of people.. It was impossible to walk in a group as there were so many people, most of them tourist.

Our other events included participatomg in two international exhibitions: (i).The London Book Fare held in February 2016 at Olympia London (ii).Christian Resources Exihibition held in May 2016, at the Excel London.

The book My Barefoot Marathon Walk, which was written soon after the barefoot walk, was written to encourage the public on how to pursue one’s dreams as the insight to the barefoot walk was gotten through revelation from dreams.
