Aims & Ob"ectives
Allsorts preschool provides f ree or aff ordable, quality, childcare in a village
setting based in the local Community Centre in Underwood. We provide care for
any child aged 2-5, providing them with the learning opportunities to develop to
their f ull individual potential in a saf e & happy environment, bef ore progressing
on to school. We are Of sted registered & all our activities ref lect the Early
Years Foundation Stage Framework. Many of our parents use us as an
opportunity for their children to learn & play with others. Our overall aim is to
help lay the foundations for learning. We are now a well-recognised part of the
community. There are no other preschools that are within walkin9 distance.
Underwood itself has very few facilities & people have to rely a lot on having a
car.

Achievements a Performance
Over the year the number of children on the re9lSter has continued to increase
until we have been operating at f ull capacity & also have a waiting list of
children ready to start in September 2024.
Additional support has been provided f or all children with additional needs who
attend the setting, with staf f ing being increased so that I:1 supervision can be
provided for a proportion of each session. Links are in place with local schools to
help those children with additional needs to transition into school in September
2024.
Children's developmental progress has been in line with the Early Years
Foundation Stage Framework. Any delays due to communication & language or
social skills have been identif led & support put in place.
Children are happy & secure whilst playing & learning. Parents/carers are happy
with the service being provided. There have been no complaints, parents/carers
are aware of our Complaints Procedure.
Two members of staff left at the end of Summer Term 2023 a a new member
of staff was recruited & started work November 2023.
sted Ins

Allsorts Preschool (Underwood) was inspected by Of sted on 21 September

needs. Therefore children show high levels of curiosity & enjoyment as they
conf idently explore activities,.
st
t)iff iculties
We have found it increasingly diff icult to keep up with increased costs in
particular rent & salaries. As a result we have had to apply for grants to help us
to continue to operate. We have successf ully applied f or & received a grant
from the Thomas Farr Trust to help pay for our rent & a grant from the Co-
Operative Society towards replacin9 broken equipment.
