## **SENIOR TEAM**

Team Verrico is entirely reliant on volunteers to run the charity. We have a group of Trustees and many, many volunteers. Team Verrico’s ‘Senior Team’ is made up of those Trustees and a small number of our many volunteers who hold formal positions.

The current Senior Team includes:

Trustees:

- Nicholas Cranfield – Trustee and Chair

- Jackie McHale – Trustee and Treasurer

- Philip Crosbie – Trustee and Secretary

- Emily Christelow – Trustee and Head of Fundraising

- Paul Verrico – Trustee and Head of Research

As well as the small group of Trustees, the charity is supported by a wealth of volunteer talent, including formal positions:

- Jackie Steele – Head of Counselling

- Claire Skeet – Head of Finance

- Cheryl Moorhouse – Events

- Jason Mounter – JJ-Solutions (IT and Website)

If you would like to assist the charity in any way possible, please get in touch using the details at the end of this report.

We would love to hear from you.

## **CORPORATE ALLIANCES**

We have had the privilege of working with a number of organisations that help us achieve our objectives. These alliances have become even more important as we all deal with the end of the Cost of Living Crisis. We wish to say a massive ‘thank you’ to all of them.

Over the last year, these organisations have included:

## Eversheds Sutherland

An ever-present support for Team Verrico, Eversheds Sutherland has a plethora of fundraisers within its mix.

## Tape2Tape Events

Our strong links to running remained as we were supported by Tape2Tape events who allowed us to be part of their excellent events, including the North Lincs Half Marathon.

**5**

We have been amazed by those that have helped us during the Cost of Living Crisis!.

## Ey Up Me Duck Festival

The festival has supported Team Verrico for three years and will continue to do so in 2023.

Over the last year we have also been able to distribute medical supplies / personal care packs and weekly food support packages because of the help of our supporters.

**6**

## **WHAT WE DO WITH YOUR MONEY**

It is vital that we use as much of your donations as possible to pursue the key objectives of Team Verrico. By not taking any salaries and minimising administrative costs, we seek to ensure that as much money raised goes towards great causes.

## Research

We received a number of requests for research grants and assessed them as a Trustee team to consider their merits, as well as whether they fit within the objectives of the charity. We have benefited from long-term relationships with a range of innovative research organisations. This year we were able to award two research grants amounting to £26,694.

Please keep an eye on our social media streams to find out about the latest projects that are underway.

## Support

The charity regularly receives requests for support through its website, social media outlets, or through recommendations and word-of-mouth. The requests for support evidence the impact that cancer can have on families, and how your support can make a massive difference:

- Practical – requests for cleaners, food packages, as well as assistance with travel and childcare costs whilst undergoing cancer treatment;

- Medical – arranging for second opinions and consultations for those diagnosed with cancer; and

- Emotional – we provide a counselling service for those diagnosed with cancer, and family members who may also be affected.

## **HOW WE RAISE MONEY**

Even whilst in and out of the Cost of Living Crisis, our fantastic supporters have found ways to raise money. We are thankful for every single one, including the below!

A massive thank you to those involved in the Royal Parks Half Marathon, Great North Run, Messingham Show, The Pink Ribbon Foundation, The National Lottery Community Fund, The Co-Op, the Lincolnshire Co-Op and the organisers of the Ey Up Me Duck Music Festival.

It is a mark of the diversity and imagination of our supporters that we simply cannot list every fundraising event within this report. We have also been amazed at the ways our supporters have continued to support us during the Cost of Living Crisis. Please keep visiting our social media platforms and website for the latest news on what people have been doing.
