Chairman's Re
ort for the financial
ear to 31" March 2024
Rerun Furniture SeTViCC Itd continue to work with local authoritics. community. voluntary &
charitable groups lo help thos¢ most in n¢¢d in our community. Wc have continued to provide 3cces$
to Iow-COSt household items to the community as a whole.
OPERATIONS
We are pleased overall with the work done during the past year given the financial position of the
country and the lack of disposable income people have now available. With totals showing 3915
households visited combined with 2683 of these being to deliver some 15802 items to those seeking
our help. The remaining households were to collect 3906 item5 which were donated to the Charity to
be passed on to the community. This is a significant increase on last year's totals. Many of these
items may have otherwise ended up in landfill. with just a small pcrcenlagc of what we collected nol
bein&7 usable, thus helping the environment as well as thos¢ in n¢ed within our community.
The statl" team are working well together both paid and voluntary in very ditliculi circumslanccs due
to the economy and other pressures. but we have a stable and dedicatcd workforcc. Wc are rnaking a
social impact on the communities where we work through provision of household items at low cost.
Over the last 12 Months we have continued and grown our online & social media presence to provide
inforniation ahout our work alnng with uploading pictures of items available from nur showroom.
This has served us & the users of the sites very well with the Facebook page conlinuing to do well
with followers now over 7600. The website has picked up well too bFiving us regular enquiries &
donations daily. We have continued our close links with the social workers. community giroups &
social laiidlords to provide inucli Ji¢¢d¢d support to low-incoIn¢ families & individuals. witli people
finding themselves in evcn more dityiculty Wlth the increased cost of living we are finding even more
coming to us. The partnerships with the Mother Humber memorial trust and the consortium grant
giving trusts for whom wc provide furniture packaged for. is continuing to be a useful nctwork in
which we are reaching even more people in nced. We have recently slarted a partnership with MKM
commercial who have the conlrdcl lo clear out council properties. this is giving us arcess to more
white goods which once tested are able lo be passed on to needy families.
IIYCOME & F
The charity ha5 been mostly self-sustaining since 2007; this has been achieved by our work with th¢
community groups & income received through the sale5 of items in our showroom & local market too.
We have endeavoured to keep our prices the same over these years too in order to help as many
peoplc as possible as we know ftrst hand just how people are really struggling. We have seen a drop
in donations OV¢T th¢ rcscnt years duc to increased competition such as other charities and online
privatc sales sites & this has inevitably had a knock-on effect with the income from sales too but with
small local grdnts received ihis year from the Sir James Reckitt charitable trust and once again the
Hull & East Riding Charity trnst we are managing to keep the prices around the same.

EXPENDITURE
Expenditure for this financial year has been like every other company I charity, higher! with added
fuel costsl van repairs, utility and stsffing costs all adding to loss of income duc to the tinancial
economy we continue to be in.
FUTURE PLANS
We constantly look for ways we can help those in our Community who are really stNggling, and the
next year will not be any diffcrcnt. Wc will continuc to work closely with the local community & our
partners to help the most vulnerable & look at ways w¢ can better support those in ne￿.
Priding ourselves on being the lowest priccd furniture charity in our area we play a major role in
hclping pcople gain access to low-cost essential household items through this difficult economic
period whilst enabling them to stay out of debt just for getting the essential items needed to live a
reasonable life.
We will also Lontinue to look at llow we can balance the iiicomc ovLr expLnditure extenially without
adding to ihe already burdened income from sales. As part of this we are delighted io have received a
grant from the National lottcry community fund in the amount of L20.000 which will go towards
covering the outgoings for this financial year and with the small profit made from the previous years
work we are looking forward to another good year of helping others.
GOVEILYANCE & INTERNAL CONTROLS
The Trustcc's/directors speak regularly with th¢ management team to review th¢ progress of the work,
with management inforniation being provided on opcrations overall.
