## **Achievements and performance** 

|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>iden8fying the diference the<br>charity’s work has made to<br>the circumstances of its<br>benefciaries and any wider<br>benefts to society as a<br>whole.|Throughout 2024, the hall was used on a regular basis by the LCA and other<br>user groups listed above, including weekly classes in Baby Massage and private<br>hirings for funerals, birthday par8es, talks and yoga classes.<br>Our facili8es and compe88ve hiring rates are appreciated by families and<br>groups across the local community.<br>There were also some corporate hirings, for either evening, part or full-day<br>seminars and mee8ngs.<br>The LCA staged several successful events during the year, including:<br>•<br>Evening talks several on topics of interest<br>•<br>Monthly Pop-up pub and food van nights<br>•<br>Music concert<br>•<br>The 9-day h.Art Exhibi8on in September featuring the work of ten local<br>ar8sts<br>•<br>Christmas Market in November with eleven stalls ofering seasonal,<br>mostly local produce and products<br>•<br>Monthly Community Cafes on the third Saturday of the month held<br>jointly with the PCC, throughout most of the year<br>•<br>Two Quiz Nights held in the spring and autumn respec8vely.<br>The feedback received from par8cipants and visitors at these events was<br>generally very posi8ve, with h.Art in par8cular genera8ng excellent feedback<br>and very good sales for the exhibi8ng ar8sts and the Cafe.  The monies raised<br>from evening talks were donated to a charity nominated by the speakers.  Alas,<br>some of the planned events such as a hog roast and guitar evening were<br>postponed due to the roasters and the weather respec8vely.<br>The Hall was also used for a range of other purposes, such as a venue for the<br>Archenfeld Community Environment Group talks on locally important<br>environmental maXers, a venue for the local Repair Café, and as a Polling<br>Sta8on for the local Council and General elec8ons.<br>The Trustees met on 3 occasions, and the LCA Management CommiXee met on<br>eight occasions. In addi8on to discussing opera8onal and event-related maXers,<br>the Trustees and Management CommiXee (as appropriate) also addressed<br>several maintenance issues, including the servicing of the underfoor hea8ng<br>system, and repairs to the main electrical fuses. The Trustees and/or<br>Management CommiXee also reviewed several LCA policies on their respec8ve<br>due dates. One policy remained under development at the year-end: Grant<br>Making. Review was postponed pending gran8ng of a new Licence by the<br>Diocese of Hereford<br>2024 saw the appointment of a new Trustee in July (Richard Turner), and LCA<br>Management CommiXee in January 2024, and of new Ofcers, Treasurer<br>(BridgeXe Wilson) in February 2024, and Secretary (Clair Turner) in November<br>2024. The exis8ng MC Chair (Helen Edwards) con8nues in role and as Booking<br>Secretary. Sadie Copus organised the ar8sts for h.Art; Lisa Taylor organised the<br>café rota and the Christmas market; Dan Roberts supports maintenance and<br>sevng up for events.|

|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>iden4fying the diference the<br>charity’s work has made to the<br>circumstances of its<br>benefciaries and any wider<br>benefts to society|Regarding the future direc8on and ac8vi8es of the LCA, the Management<br>CommiXee sent out a ques8onnaire to all visitors to the Garron Centre and<br>residents of the community asking for feedback on the nature and type of<br>events that they wished to be held.  The results of this survey have been<br>collated for discussion at the next AGM.  No AGM was held in 2024 due to the<br>pending resigna8on of the Chair of the Trustees and the expiry of the Licence<br>from the Diocese of Hereford.  This expired in September 2024, and a<br>temporary agreement to operate was issued by the Diocese pending applica8on<br>for an interim Licence in January 2025.|

|Review of the charity’s<br>fnancial posi8on at the end<br>of the period|The Annual Accounts are shown at the end of this report, in the Receipts &<br>Payments format.<br>Total receipts from events and ac8vi8es in 2024 were £19,316.23, while<br>payments in respect of these ac8vi8es plus general opera8onal costs were<br>£19,306.91.<br>The payments for charitable dona8ons in rela8on to the evening talks to We are<br>Farming Minds, Hereford Air Ambulance, and St Michael’s Hospice were made<br>directly to the Chari8es via the speakers and do not appear in the accounts.<br>The cost of electricity rose signifcantly in 2024 compared to 2023 from<br>£1,323.38 to £2,369.12.<br>The net defcit in 2024 was -£9.32 compared to a net defcit of -£24.04 in 2023.<br>The Chari8es HSBC account balance totalled £46,224.59 at the year end.<br>The Annual Accounts 2024 have been agreed by the Trustees and Management<br>CommiXee were submiXed via online fling to the Charity Commission on 10th<br>November 2025.  The delay in submission was due to the resigna8on of the<br>Chair of the Trustees and a delay in appointment of a new Chair in July 2025.|
