The charity continues to raise funds in numerous ways by running various events as described in “Section D Achievements and performance”. Some of the sporting events not only raise funds for the charity but also improves and encourages physical health.
The funds are used for grants which we receive online through our website at the following address: - https://donationswithadifference.org/grant application/
Grants in 2023 were as follows:
Jade’s Mobility Scooter - £1,690.00 (G2023-01)
Jade has fibromyalgia, chronic pain and fatigue, impingement in her fat pads in knees, chronic bronchitis, depression, anxiety, borderline personality disorder. Jade had a manual wheelchair from NHS wheelchair service but Jade did not have not the strength to push herself for more than a few metres.
Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)
Jade’s husband is her carer. They have just had a baby and when she was five months old she had to go to foster care. They will soon be together again but Jade had no way to push a buggy, and she was not able to go out alone. This affected Jade’s depression quite badly. Jade needed a cheap power chair (electric wheelchair) so she could have the independence she desperately needed whilst her husband pushes the buggy. We provided a more substantial chair for Jade’s needs and she was able to have her baby girl back with her ffamily
Evie’s Bed - £592.95 (G2023-02)
This was referred from social services – Evie is living with Hemiplegia and under investigation for Autism. The family live in a two-bedroom property and Evie has a younger sister. The family need to have the two children in the same bedroom but the room is not large enough to have two single beds. The family therefore require a bunk bed. Due to Evie's disabilities, she cannot manage the normal stairs that come with a bunk bed and needs a bunk bed with proper stairs however these are expensive. The family want Evie to be as independent as possible so that she does not feel that her disability can stop her achieving. Evie would significantly benefit from this bed, and it would help her to feel independent like other children her age. The family would benefit as this would have a positive impact on Evie’s mental health as she would feel like she has achieved.
Ara’s Parallel Bars - £357.39 (G2023-03)
Ara suffers with cerebral palsy. We bought the parallel bars to aid Ara’s mobility and independence
Dad, Femi says “Cerebral palsy has severely affected my daughter's ability to walk and maintain balance. As a result, she relies on assistance from others to move around”
Ara uses this equipment at an occupational therapist but only one hour every month
With the aid of the Parallel Walking Bars, Ara will have the opportunity to learn how to walk independently and improve her overall health and quality of life. This piece of equipment would also give her the opportunity to engage in social activities and build confidence in her abilities.

Ivy’s All Terrain Wheelchair - £5,131.00 (G2023-04)
Ivy is 3 years old. She has two very rare chromosome abnormalities and is unable to move around herself. Her favourite thing is the sea 5 mins away. Mum, Emily says “I’m desperate for Ivy to not miss out on things that she loves and exploring new places. Ivy might never walk and she’s currently not able to move herself around at all and is now too big to carry safely. Ivy will use this piece of equipment nearly every day. We live near cliffs which we’d love to carry on exploring with her and we are lucky enough to live very close to the beach which, even in cold weather, we like to play on which will otherwise be inaccessible and limited to Ivy. This wheelchair will allow Ivy to carry on playing and exploring. The quote includes all the support straps, seat supports, transport bags and wheels so there will be no family trips off limits to Ivy. It has lots of growing room and will last her until she’s about 8 years old.”
Brompton Fountain - £2,000.00 (G2023-05)
We held a charity netball tournament and raised funds towards the Brompton Fountain Family Support Group (Charity Number 1110339). The Brompton Fountain support seriously ill babies and children at The Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals raising funds for the paediatric intensive care unit, Rose Ward and the hospital playroom.
Arthur’s Wheelchair - £7,330.00 (G2023-06)
Arthur is a 12-year-old with severe learning disabilities and complex health problems, he is under 9 different consultants at Great Ormond Street Hospital. Arthur needed an electric wheelchair to give him some form of independence. The chair will grow with Arthur and become carer controlled when he is no longer able to use it himself.
Castle Hill Primary School - £3,140.00 (G2023-07)
We provided 2 grants for a local school. - £2,000 for a Family Support Fund which offers emergency financial support to the school’s families, helping with school uniforms, shoes, transport to appointments, emergency food and baby item. We were also able to fund the Breakfast Club - £1,140 which is for 50 children every day, 20 of which are free, this covers the cost of food and staff to run this non-profit activity.
Rockitts Sensory Room’s Interactive Projector - £6,650.00 (G202308)
