Community Heart Productions ( charity 1157898), works to help individuals, gr o ups and community tackle issues that concern the m . This year we have worked in Bagillt, Flint an d Holywell. We have been focusing on food povert y , biodiversity loss and bringing people toge t her. We have been helping children and young peo p le to thrive and have implemented a young lea d ers programme.
Our Growing Together project a t Bagillt Community Garden is going well with 300 surplus bags of vegetable and fruit going to th e community free of charge. There has been a s u ccessful community volunteering programme and o ur Allotment School programme that teaches children and young people to grow food has gone w ell. The garden has developed so much over t h e last few years and we are extremely thankful to st a ff, volunteers and funders for helping to make t h is happen.
During Easter and Summer Holi d ays we delivered the pilot for a new project ca l led Nature Link. This was highly successful and we a r e now seeking funding for development. It aim s to connect children and young people to nature. A ctivities such as forest school, camp craft, p o nd dipping, habitat building, bug safari and tree pla n ting were extremely popular.
We have run a community bas e d kids club that has engaged a range of young s ters that have been enabled to learn, grow and achieve. All services are free to the public and this m eans that nobody is ever excluded because they co m e from a low income household.
Our projects have been well attended, client led, community centred and ne e ds based. We have undertaken a significant piece of consultation this year that is helping us t o develop our work strategically and keep abreast o f need.
Community events and interge n erational days have been popular. Bringing the community together has helped to foster wellbei n g, build social networks and build resilienc e . We are currently developing this element of our w ork.
We currently have 3 part-time staff, 3 freelance workers, 12 volunteers and 43 young members. Community events attract up t o 200 people. We hope to build our capacity a n d reach many more youngsters, with a wider range o f activities. We are working hard to build upon our successes so far and we are positive about our f uture. We are seeking to work with many mor e children and young people and are exciting about m oving into 2025.
Like every year, 2024 brought challenges. Funding is always an issue and Co v id left a backlog of projects that needed to be deli v ered and money that needed to be spent. Now t hat this is behind us we are more positive than ever that we can make a huge difference in the communities that we serve.
