DIRECTOR’S REPORT FOR THE FINANCIAL YEAR ENDING APRIL 2023
Last year’s report concluded with the following statement: “We are hopeful, that when it comes to writing the next report we will have news of a return to Bulgaria for our teams.”
I am delighted to report that plans are currently in hand to visit Krivnya Orphanage in Autumn 2023. We have been working with the director to draw up a list of jobs required for our building team and we are close to finalising all the detail.
Meanwhile we are continuing to support a number of young people.
We still support the young man who came to the UK for medical treatment. The funds secured for his care are coming to an end but, we are very close to enabling him to be entirely self supporting. We continue to support the young family in Bulgaria with gifts for essential medical care (thanks largely to the generosity of Okehampton Baptist Church) and regular monthly gifts to top up their income.
Whilst we are excited to be planning for a return to Bulgaria, the Covid pandemic has taught us that we can still be active and fruitful despite not having our feet on the ground in Bulgaria.
Once again we have been reminded of the exceptional value of our regular givers who faithfully support our work.
