AIMS is a volunteer run charity campaigning on maternity issues and providing birth information and support via helpline, website and publications. We believe that women should be supported to make informed decisions about what is right for them when they are pregnant, giving birth and when feeding and caring for their baby, and work towards making this a reality for all families in the UK

Objects: The Objects Of The CIO Areinsofar As The Following Relate To Improvement Of The Provision Of Maternity And Maternity-Related Health Services, Pregnancy, Childbirth, The Postnatal Period, And Early Parenthood: (1) To Advance, Preserve And Protect The Mental, Emotional And Physical Health Of Women; (2) To Advance, Preserve And Protect The Mental, Emotional And Physical Health Of Families, Parents And Children; (3) To Advance The Education Of The Public, Including Healthcare Professionals; (4) To Promote Human Rights As (as Set Out In The Universal Declaration Of Human Rights, The Convention On The Elimination Of Discrimination Against Women And Subsequent United Nations Conventions And Declarations, And The European Convention For The Protection Of Human Rights And Fundamental Freedoms) In The United Kingdom By All Or Any Of The Following Means: (a) Monitoring Abuses Of Human Rights;(b) Obtaining Redress For The Victims Of Human Rights Abuse;(c) Relieving Need Among The Victims Of Human Rights Abuse;(d) Research Into Human Rights Issues;(e) Providing Technical Advice To Government And Others On Human Rights Matters;(f) Contributing To The Sound Administration Of Human Rights Law;(g) Commenting On Proposed Human Rights Legislation;(h) Raising Awareness Of Human Rights Issues;(i) Promoting Public Support For Human Rights;(j) Promoting Respect For Human Rights Among Individuals And Corporations;(k) International Advocacy Of Human Rights; And (l) Eliminating Infringements Of Human Rights.in Furtherance Of This Object But Not Otherwise, The Trustees Shall Have Power To Engage In Political Activity Provided That The Trustees Are Satisfied That The Proposed Activities Will Further The Purposes Of The Charity To An Extent Justified By The Resources Committed And The Activity Is Not The Dominant Means By Which The CIO Carries Out Its Objects.
