Some higblights of the year
As a result of The Friendly Food Club delivering cooking activities last year. we have developed our own 'iD house, cookery
sessions delivered by our Conununity Cook Nicola Ellis. She delivered h¢r fiTht se55ion for families. One mum was 5uTprised
to witness her son eating mushrooms for the fll5t time and even enjoying them! Since then other groups within the
ComrnuDity have asked for sessÈons to be delivered for them, these include The Men's Grow Over 55's and more family
sessions in the Ilolidays.
Jessie, our ConllnuDity Development and VolunteeT Manager h&8 developed & robust v01wit￿]ng PTOgrJn￿, The alm É$ to
give our volunteers the opportunity to develop skills aud CODfidellce whi]st benefiting from the lrnining WHCE can offer.

In the past 12 months our Clwity sbop income has In￿e&Se￿ the shop continues to OPBn 3 days a week and receive5
don8tioDS, ¢Dabling regular rolatioo of stock Tracy. Sbop Mats3ger. Iw a reliable group of voluJJteers and they join in with
the actÈvities in tILe Centr¢.
The Cafe is experiencing a quieter period. We WOTking with the community to ensure we deliver the right model in the
future. UllfortUllat¢ly. tbe tnain c(N)ker in the Cafe area bmke, we have just Teceived some grant fijnding to replace this, and
it is hoped that some of the events such as Sunday Lutth, LU￿ Clubs will restart sooTr The Cafe has generated an income
of £16.042 over the past 12 months.
In ibe past 12 months we have increased our Venue Hire and the itKome generated foT the satne 12 months 15 £17,798. Our
eveDt income is just under £4.000.
Our cumt fi]nding with TNL is DOW in its fiDal year. We are working hard with the Boar4 staff group and our volutLteers to
ensure that our plans for the coming 5 years and beyond are sustainabl& Our business playjning will evidence not only the
growth that has already taken place but also the firture vision of WHCE and the Community it represents.
The Charity have been Succ￿ful in the 1st ph&se of the Community Asset Transfer (CAT) of the buildtng. Work is
underway now to produce a Bu5ines5 Plan and negotiat¢ with th¢ local authority in Phase 2 of the CAT. Thi5 will coincide
witb the next potential round of TNL fi￿dillg, so it is cIitical the CEwity decide5 on the most appropriate model for the
ttw¢ of the Community of West Howe.
Flnanclal Posldon
Total income for the year has increased to £203,802 (2023 - £154,175) and the total expendittwe for the year was £186.788
(2023 - £142,074) giving the charity a swplus of £17,014 (2023 - £11101). This has resulted in unrestricted fimds of
£42,063 (2023 - £40.048) and Rstricted fimds of £105.223 (2023- £90,224) at the year en
Reserves policy and going colltern
The Th￿l¢eS aim to maintain £40,000 of unrestricted fjjnds as a reseThe to cover expenditure in case of an unexpected fall in
income. At the year enl the chaJity had free Teserves (Unrestricted rese￿eS les5 fixed assets) of £38,434 (2023.. £38,950).

The trustees are aware that the National Lott¢ry fundin& wbiGh cov￿5 a large PTO[￿]0￿ of the wage5 cosL until June
2025 and further funding is not yet secure(L However applications have beetk made aThl the outcome of this is expected soon.
