In achieving NHIG's purpose of ensuring the conservation of ironwork for the benefit of the nation NHIG's work can be categorised into the following areas:Education by developing and sustaining knowledge; instigating, conducting and publishing Research; establishing and promoting Professional Standards; collecting and developing Resources and Advocacy both nationally and internationally.
Objects: The Company’s Objects Are To Advance The Education Of The General Public In Traditional Ironwork, Ironworking Crafts And To Promote The Preservation Of Historic Ironwork, In Particular But Not Exclusively By:1. Providing Educational Programmes/events2. Promoting Research Into Ironwork And Publishing The Useful Results;3. Promoting High Standards Within The Sector.
