necessary as we began to open the Centre more and Ttxjre to community and b￿8]neSses. By June we were seeing
thc gradual rctum of our regular groups and business meeungs.
The surnlner of 2021 saw the launch of the Dational Holidays aThl Activities Food progrdmme (H.4FI with funds
distributed to local authoTiiies to 5UPtM)rt children and their families during school holidays, known in (he
Wakefield District a5 WF Happy Hcalthy Holidays. Easts)YKTrr secured fill)ding from WMDC w tak¢ patt in the
programrae and wclcomcd QVCT 174 during the fitst part of the programme, delifvetillg healthy eat]ng initiatives,
phvsical activiiies. visirs and nwch more. A hea]thy cooked meal providwj on many of ttLe days gnd packed
lunches on days out.
In NoYembLY 2021. the Centre t(x)k part in the Kickstort scheme. again a govemmenl initiative to create new
jobs for 16 to 2¥y&qr olds on Unl￿ersal Credit who w¢re ai risk of long-iemi unemployment. We employed a
part time member of sthff for the %ix-month period the ran for. The project was succe&sful in gaining
filnding from the A¢iiv¢ and InSpi￿d fund using spori and physicat aeti>'ily to benefit young people from ages 6
- 2). The futLdiug was accessed via Wakefield CouDciI's Health ImproverneDt TeanL The scheme wag extremely
successful, how¢ver it r¢ased when the member of staff eEDployed ro c{￿0Tdinate and run activities took up a
po$Itiort in another organisation.
As we eniered a new year. 2022 saw a decline in the use of the Centre for v2ccination d¢liv¢ry and by th¢ cnd of
this reporting p¢ri(Ki, there wa5 on]y ￿CaSIOnal need of our services for this puq)ose. There was. however, dn
irt¢re&sing return of commercial boMikin8s, bringing incorne to tKJth the CeDtre and Cafè on the Moor, wjth all
upwrn in requests for buffet fix)d during meetings.
