Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document
Advancing the opportunities of disadvantaged children and young people in mainstream education to make a positive difference in their lives. The CIO provides assistance through the giving of grants, equipment or other assets to help provide experiences that would otherwise have been missed.
Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)
The Trustees meet to review the requests made for grants and use the public benefit criteria to ensure the outcomes are in line with the objectives of the CIO. The Trustees meet the organisation to verify the request and ask for a report of the outcome. Trustees are invited to attend the events the CIO have helped fund.
The Trustees of the TheSchoolBus Foundation believe that they have complied with the duty in section 17 of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the public benefit guidance published by the Charity Commission.
