## TRUSTEE REPORT 2022-2023

30/01/2024

After the end of the covid restrictions we began to put things in place to reopen and welcome the community back. We invited people to tea and cake mornings and the snooker room began to see some more usage. The trustees assisted with local motorsports events to raise funds for the hall and these rally groups have also been keen to hire the building as a venue, which is fantastic for us and appears to be working towards getting follow-up bookings which will go some way towards subsidising more community lead events.

The spring saw a good turn-out for the Royal Jubilee, with tea and cakes.

Unfortunately, shortly before our Village Christmas Party the temperature in the area plummeted unexpectedly and we suffered some burst pipes meaning that we were unable to open for several weeks until the issue was solved. This has now been fixed through our insurers and we are hoping to be back on track to continue offering social evenings and events to the community.

During 2023 we plan to lay on quiz evenings and “Pop-Up Pub” nights for people to meet up and socialise throughout the year, although the electricity and heating costs may prove prohibitive for many subsidised events throughout the winter months.
