Friends of Carlton Annual Report 2024.
The ‘Friends’ charity, now in its tenth year, continues to provide financial support to Schools to enable children from disadvantaged families to pay for their residential visits to Carlton Adventure (Carlton Camp). In one instance, a local family with Triplets had their visits paid for by ‘The Friends’ so all three children benefitted from an outdoor pursuits week away from home.
Fundraising continues to be a key part of our work. A great deal of time and effort was put into our ‘Christmas Cracker’ evening and grand draw. Some 120 people attended the event including a meal and live band.
Members regularly visit Carlton to do a variety of jobs, including erection of fencing, providing new seating and benches, also gardening.
Friends of Carlton has a settled, regular membership, who provide a wealth of expertise and skills.
During the year several members delivered talks about the adventure centre to various organizations and clubs, so raising the profile of Carlto Camp in the community.
